I am 11th generation direct descendant of Joseph Loomis who settled in Windsor, Connecticut in 1638. Also of Walter Woodworth who came to Massachusetts in 1634. While researching my geneaology, I "stumbled" upon findagrave.com. I am thoroughly enjoying my searches in the cemeteries in northeastern Ohio. Family names I am researching are : Loomis, Woodworth, Johnston, Brady, Irwin, Pardee, Fales.|
When I started this "journey" I was entering only family members. However, I sometimes get "carried away" while connecting them with their extended families. So, therefore, I do have some folks who are not related to me in any way. If you see someone who you would like to take management, I will gladly turn them over if they are not part of my own family.

No problem. Her obituary says that her internment would be at a later time so I am wondering if maybe she is in the mausoleums or something. I have a call into the cemetery and the funeral home to see if I can find out.

While it is winter, not much chance of photographs with the weather we have had. However, a check with the following website suggests that there is no gravestone available for Esther.
|Kathy Pendley||RE: Harry D Ransom|
Would loved to have his memorial #127770567 and his wife Grace Porter Ransom #127770587 transferred to me if they are not related to you. Harry is one of my great grand uncles. Including my great grandfather, Edward Lilly Ransom, he is one of the 9 children of Squire Ransom and Nancy Teresa Hoyt. Since I am in California Find a Grave has been a great help in located grave sites of my ancestors. I hope that someday someone will find Squire and Nancy's grave sites in Ashtabula, Ohio, so Squire can be connected to his father's memorial # 21568089.

~IFY~ Ok, here's how this works: The office does not have computer access and those that are buried at this cemetery are not in their computer banks because they don't have computers inputted for those that are buried there(If that makes any sense); in order for them to find your request the one person which is the Office Manager Shantel has to go to another building and physically look at all the index cards to find the requested person. Her effort is vain. Call this Number (310) 631-1141 Shantel Office Manager. Also if Shantel does not answer the phone she might have stepped away from the office..keep trying until you reach her. Also she takes lunch from 2:30-3:00p. If Shantel says she will call you back; keep track as she may not always return calls. Shantel is by herself in this one man office. Office hours 9a-3p M-F If you do not have a Death Certificate of your relative; Shantel will suggest to get one first so here's the number to County Records (562) 426-2137. Hope this helps.

The memorials were deleted and remade when the organization I was with at the time wanted no part of Ancestry. I am no longer with that organization and am slowly getting everything back on line. It will take some time, but they will all be back as my time allows.

Nancy - My grandmother,on my father's side, was a Loomis. I have followed her family back to the American Revolution - Nathaniel Reynolds and my cousin has followed her family back to the Mayflower - Stephen Hopkins. I don't know if there is any connection to your family but you have my email address if I can share anything with you. Isn't this fun! Charlene

You are absolutely right, and I knew that lol. I just got so excited to find two of her daughters that I lost my head for a moment. Thanks. Charlene

They were in Montville, Geauga, Ohio in 1880 Census, had 6 children, Fred 14, Byron 12, Fruland 9, Louis 3 and twins Hattie and Hettie 3 months. Fales was transcribed as Tales.
In 1900 Willard 65 and daughter Hattie 20, were in Waynoka, Woods, Oklahoma. He is listed as widower.
In 1910 they are in the same place and he is living with the now married Hattie and her husband, William L Goodale and 3 children, Mertie 12, Earl 8 & Fern 2. (Mertie may be Wms daughter from a prior marriage). Hattie died in 1917, Find A Grave Memorial# 56835348.
I haven't found any info on the death of her parents, Willard & Harriett. I would think that he died in Waynoka, Oklahoma since he was living with her family in 1910.

Thank you Nancy,
I too get carried away with extended family members, there is just something about seeing them linked up that give me a good fuzzy feeling. I do it on my own family tree and I keep telling myself that they validate my info. When it comes time to printing the tree I'll see how much the extended family will cost me.
Thank you so much for this validation.
Are you familiar with www.iagenweb.org, so far I am impressed with the Story Co., Genealogy section. You can get to all the states on the site.

You are welcome.
I see from your bio that you are a direct descendant of Joseph Loomis. Me too! My great-grandmother Josie was the daughter of Herschel who was from Lodi and moved to Lagrange Indiana.
My daughter moved to Windsor CT a couple of years ago so on a visit I went to the original Loomis home and the graveyard. Quite a thrill for me.
