I have been interested in cemeteries and their historical content since I was very young. |
I was a member of the Columbia Cemetery Conservation Corps in Boulder, CO. We were professionally trained in the preservation and restoration of monuments by Ms. Julie Hendee of Erickson Monuments, Denver, CO.
Our director used Lynette Strangstad's "A Graveyard Preservation Primer (American Association for State and Local History)" as a guide in restoring and resetting endangered monuments.
The efforts of our work can be found here: http://www.bouldercolorado.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3320&Itemid=998
In the course of fulfilling photo requests for Findagrave.com, my intent is to "do no harm", so you will often see the remnants of flowers or other items left by loved ones in my photographs. I will not move/remove these items, as I feel it's disrespectful. I will also make no attempt to clean dirty or difficult to read monuments, although I do know the correct and non-damaging way to accomplish this.
I recently moved back to the United Kingdom with the military and look forward to exploring the cemeteries and kirks of the UK! Let me know if you need any photographs in my area - I'm happy to assist!

Green Lawn could not find a record for Rose under either spelling. Do you know where her husband was buried? Was the Michael at Green Lawn her son by chance? Patty

|TLH||Roberto Benavides photo request|
Can you contact Grove Hill cemetery and get the burial locations for your requests: 214-381-7118
There are over 323 photo requests and the volunteers can not ask for that many locations.
Your requests will get filled with the location information. The cemetery does not like to cooperate with findagrave volunteers.

I'm happy to be able to do it. The Curtis Union Cemetery is only a couple of miles from me, and, as luck would have it, I began at the back corner and your aunt's stone was the first one I saw.
