"If music be the food of love, then play on!"~Shakespeare
♥Greetings We live in a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. I joined Find A Grave to remember the good men of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald and I found so much more. I have found a wonderful site where the genealogy and memories of loved ones are recorded. Where the pages of our lives reach out to others in testimony of life. The rose after my name honorably represents those who have traveled on before us. 🌹Thank you and God bless all of you who visit my loved ones. I appreciate all of your visits very much.♥ ♬Inland the Eventide Moves-Brian Buller♬ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please remember our mariners. If it were not for our mariners we would all still be believing the world was flat. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THEY COMPELL US TO LOOK TO THE WATER AND THEN TO LOOK AT THE STARS! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AS HEAVENWARD YOUR SPIRITS SAILED SUCH BEAUTY YOU DID SEE...
SS Edmund Fitzgerald PLEASE remember the SS Edmund Fitzgerald if you have a moment. Their trajedy unfolded on November 10, 1975 during the storm of a century. The entire crew of 29 men went down with the ship in a matter of only a few minutes during the storm. There was no time for a distress call. The last words over the radio of Captain McSorley to the ship Anderson just moments earlier were,"We are holding our own." "Through the Eyes of Capt. Cooper-Edmund Fitzgerald"

All that we see or seem Is but a dream within a dream. I stand amid the roar Of the surf-tormented shore, And I hold within my hand Grains of the golden sand How few! Yet how they creep Through my fingers to the deep, While I weep~while I weep! O God! Can I not grasp Them with a tighter clasp? O God! Can I not save One from the pitiless wave? Is all that we see or seem But a dream within a dream?~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A memorial for seamen around the world. | Steinberger Thought I let you know that the Gould City Cemetery is not normally my neck of the woods. I took a motorcycle ride from Petoskey, MI yesterday to visit this cemetery. I had a great ride. I took 209 photographs, exhausting the memory on my camera in the process. That is about half of the cemetery. I am in the process of posting them today. So far I have added 17 new memorials to the cemetery and expect to add more as the day continues.
Bay View, MI near Petoskey is the location of our summer home and yesterday was about a 200 mile ride for me. Yes I plan to do it again soon to complete the cemetery. The winter home is 30 miles south of Atlanta, GA and Cincinnati is a favorite stop off point for my wife and me when we head north. I have a cousin there and it makes for a perfect 1/2 way point for us. You should take a trip, if you can, to Gould, MI. It is a quiet place and the cemetery is even quieter. I can only guess what it is like in the dead of winter but it is summer now and that is how I like it. | | |
