Bio

Native of Sutton, Nebraska now living back in that town after an Air Force career and over 20 years in Northern California. Active working with genealogy since about 1975.

My father's families, Johannesson (Johnson), Israelson, Aspegren and Klintberg were Swedish immigrants of the 1870's through Illinois to Saronville, Nebraska. My maternal grandfather's Cassell/Cassels/Kennedy, Maxwell, Laing and Inglis families came from Fife County, Scotland in the 1850's to Illinois, later to Edgar, Nebraska. My maternal grandmother's families were all colonials immigrating before 1785, most in the 1630's and '40's, many to Essex Co. Massachusetts. These names included Rowlison, Walton, Kinnear, Hall, Thomas, Littlehale, Hutchinson, Putnam, Leach, Conant, Littlefield and more. Migrations from Maine, Massachusetts and Virginia went through southern Indiana before heading west.

My wife Rita's closest family names are Hutsell, Pavey, Hockenbary, Erickson, Miller, Willis, Thomas and Mattson.

I am active (co-founder and current President) in the Sutton Historical Society and have morphed into the local historian writing a weekly retrospective column for the county paper and a monthly article about local history for Sutton Life Magazine.

Please contact me with corrections or other comments on anything I've posted - let's make things right. And please feel free to use any photos of mine as you see fit. It has been my pleasure to provide them.
