I love "FindAGrave"! It's a wonderful concept. I will be adding more of my family and, hopefully, of others from the cemeteries in this area.

RE: Lefa Edwards
Interesting. I was looking at this as a way for Researchers to find descendants. In the past, I have tried desperately to locate descendants and have paid dearly for obits to help me them.

When I get the obits, I find out the names of the daughters and who they married which is a godsend in trying to find family members.

I just recently found an obit on one of my family members and it listed the name of a living descendant. I plan on writing to her and asking her if she would be willing to A) respond to me and B) write back.

It looks like she is the only living descendant and is over 70 and I would so like to get in touch with her. But, without that information on the obit, I would never have found her. If she doesn't wish to reply to me, at least I tried.

I once was able to get in touch with one of my ancestor's descendants in a Nursing Home and she died a short time later. Without her, I would never ever have located a Great Uncle.

Privacy is such a difficult road to tread when a family member wants to find another family member. I am a Genealogist and Researcher.

I do so understand the need for people to keep their information secure and that is why I write to the people and tell them that, if they don't wish to contact me or they aren't the family member I am seeking, I will never contact them again.

I give them my business card and how I found them and a way to get in touch with me. I let them know how I found them. If you can find when a person died and where and their full name, the obit is a public document published in a Newspaper. Having the names published in that instant just violated their privacy.

Anyway, I could go on and on but I understand.

RE: Oops!-The Baisley Family-Baker City Obit Cards
Hi there. Glad to see people are happy to see our work. The attribution can be Baker City Family History Center or if you notice any notations on the card for newspaper or funeral home please note those too so people will know where the info came from. Thanks, Terri
