Multi Generation Family History
Garoutte #2
Russ you know how genealogy is you get the original records and you figure stuff out by looking at the dates, locations names of parents and all that detective work. This ancestor was hard to do because there was a lot of conflicting information. Please allow me to correct it because now everyone is angry at me.

Multi Generation Family History
Garoutte
Russ I really need you to give me control of the profile at this URL:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=157916768

I am the one that put that together. I got locked out of my JC1888710@gmail.cok email address.

Initially in my research I came across 4 different Garoutte's in those decades, Michael Antoine Garoutte, Antoine Garoutte and Pierre Garoutte and John Garoutte on materials on Google Books. When I looked more deeply into the conflicting information I found that the Antoine Garoutte on the New Hamsphire 3rd Regiment was auto generated and they checked the rolls and there is no one by that name on the rolls. There is a Family Bible from Garoutte that shows all 13 children and 1790 census data in New Jersey and tax records.

The Pierre Garoutte was a cousin living in Canada at this time.

That findagrave needs to be corrected please because I made other descdndants angry at me for being wrong.

I wrote a really long detailed article on wikitree and every statement on there is proved with certified stuff and publications.

Please see it here:

wikitree.org/wiki/Garoutte-128

The findagrave needs to be corrected because anyone that uses it as a resource could be pointed in the wrong direction. Please help me Russ its my account anyway I'm just locked out of it. I always change my passwords then I forget the passwords.

Please Russ!!!!

HON. JAMES W. GRIMES
Found this an thought you would be interested. Cheryl

Dubuque Weekly Observer, September 1, 1854

HON. JAMES W. GRIMES

We place at the head of this article the name of the distinguished man who led the Anti-Nebraska host in the recent contest in Iowa, and to the freemen of the North are indebted, in a great measure, for one of the most brilliant victories ever achieved in the annual of politics. Mr. Grimes was the nominee for Governor for the party in Iowa opposed to the Nebraska swindle, and to the aggression's of the slave power. As such nominee he took the stump and canvassed the state with a power and eloquence rarely equaled. With a master hand he stripped the veil from the pro-slavery democracy, and exposed it to the gaze of the people in its naked deformity.

Mr. Grimes is an old settler of Iowa, but is yet a young man. He is a native of New Hampshire and a graduate of Dartmouth College. We believe he was in Burlington, Iowa as early as 1836. In 1837, we recollect him as secretary to Governor Dodge in the negotiations of some Indian Treaties. He is a lawyer, but has retired from his profession with a competency, and gone largely into the business of stock raising and farming. His recent contest and its results have given him a national reputation, which he has earned. - Gal. Adv. 12

James Morrison (b. abt 1825) m. to Rutha Layton
Hello Russ, I am really being bothered to no end by an Find A Grave contributor volunteer~ (1) I had a Find A Grave up on my Grandmother nobody had ever done it or ever really cared for that matter~ lots of controversy because Judge at Carrollton, Carroll Co, Ga says her last name is Saton and refuses to chg it to Laton ~ as she was married to my ggrandfather James Morrison (they were m. in Carrolton, GA 1848 listed in 1850 census there); they move over to St Clair Co, AL by 1860 c. then 1866 State census James Morrison has died as a Confederate Soldier. 1870census Ruth has married a Skinner boy ~ then she dies shortly after(nobody knows when and he remarries there in St Clair lots of land I have every single land deed with James Morrison (b. abt 1825 and his wife Ruth listed. (2)Ruth had 5 five bros. all 5 came back all 5 Confederate. I've visited the graves of each one except one in Bremen (been 3 or 4 times to look for it). There are no none Confederate records except for the 1866c. I am not in any way shape or form related to her and furthermore she has a right to her research but I do not have to accept it as I have a right to mine~ It's USA. I do not want anymore emails from her nor from her family. I've been workind on it 31 yrs. and it took two yrs to get an apology from public officials that continue to say my GGrandfather James Morrison (1824) had come back fromthe grave there in Macedonia and remarried 20 yrs later to a Ms Chamblis. It was James' nephew named James Morrison that married her (I know where buried). Mine were there where I said and a place called Trout Creek is where their many acres of property was bought from Tuscaloosa, Al (I've travelled there as well) .

Issue with the site.
There are days that I am working on Find A Grave that when you pull up a name it will not pull up a picture. It will also send a loading box to the bottom of the page and force me to shut down my system and restart. What causes this. I am also aware that security on this site is poor.

I have had an attack on my system with malware twice now.

Kind of shocked-can I get someone to transfer some accounts please?
I just joined Find A Grave, I was very excited to be able to input information to my relatives...this is wonderful to think that anyone can find out a little history of this person. I am particularly happy to fill in the "unknown"s on my relates page, to connect them with wives and children. However I am very shocked at the aditude of many of the "owners" or the people who have entered the graves into the db. Maybe I don't understand how this works but I rather not deal with some of them. I have a person that has turned off their messages but "owns" all my relatives on my mother's side. When I went into her profile she or maybe he had a really nasty bio. REALLY NASTY. I am perplexed ..why would someone enter over 200,000 graves and not expect to get contacted constantly regarding changes? Since she/he is unreachable can someone move them to my account so I can manage my grandparents and great grandparents. I will add as many as I can....but I would like to have someone who loved them take care of them. I will not have 200k to handle.
I appreciate your site, it is a wonderful thing...

Message from JB
I got a message from JB saying he sent me an email, "JB - No response ----
I sent you an e-mail regarding Hershel Stites and got no response. If you don't want people sending you e-mails, you might want to change your settings so your e-mail address doesn't show ."

But when I go into the site I cannot look up his email, profile, or respond to the message he sent. I got nothing from him to respond to but this nasty message in F.A.G. Am I doing something wrong?
