I moved to North-Central Kansas in late 2008, which gave me a whole new starting place for family history research! My grandmother Elsa Opal Long Vandecar (1896-1996) was the family historian, and for the last 15 years or so I've been trying to continue her legacy.|
You are welcome to copy any of my gravestone photos onto other genealogy or family history websites; no need to credit me. Helping other family historians by gathering those photos is my way of paying forward all the help I've received!

Thank you so much for taking this picture. A visual memorial is more meaningful than just names and dates. Judy

I was hoping to go to the Aurora Cemetery yesterday but it was just too windy for me also. It looks like Chester Cemetery photos of markers are almost done. I was hoping to do them but other things came up so I'm glad that you have taken over.

Thanks so much for fulfilling my photo requests for Charles and Bessie Holmes' marker. I greatly appreciate you also sending edits for any mistakes that were on the cemetery records given to me by the sexton so the memorial is correct; you would be surprised how many don't do that. Keep up the GREAT job!!!

You have the wrong grave marker for Caroline Elizabeth French #39864912 She died in 1905 not 1921
There should be another grave for Elizabeth Caroline Flewelling French. b. 1827, D. 1905.

Thank you for adding her Mom and Dad to her Memorial.

Dear SJ Oregon,
For what it's worth, I suspect there may be an error on the gravestone for Charles G. Fulton. It lists his as having served in Company B of the 353rd Infantry. However, according to the History and Roster of the 355th Infantry, his is listed as having served in the 355th Infantry. So, I suppose either the gravestone is wrong or the document is wrong.
Just thought I'd pass this along, for what it's worth.
