Most memorials I add have been verified by viewing the grave, seeing a photo of the headstone (with GPS if GPS was attached to the photo) or by verifying with several independent sources to document cemetery location.
Clarification. The below was added after numerous comments in various groups by people who don't understand U.S. copyright law. I am not a copyright attorney, but have consulted with copyright legal experts and the U.S. Copyright Office on copyright law on copyright issues for other purposes.
The new agreement with Ancestry does not allow people to post photos from this website to Ancestry without first getting permission. Both sites make it very clear the copyright holder retains copyright and you need his/her permission to use any photo. Under U.S. copyright law, photos taken after 1977 are covered by copyright without the need to register it, use the (c), circled c, copyright, or any other notice. Using someone else's photo with citation is not a substitution for needing permission.
I personally photographed over 95% of the photos I have uploaded, and have permission from the copyright holders for the remaining ones. Some of them have asked me to not to list their names after they were hassled by some people because they would not allow the photos to be used on other sites, especially paid sites like Ancestry.com.
If you wish to use any of the photos on other websites (including Family Search, Ancestry.com and any of its affiliates, etc.), contact me and I will let you know if the photo can be used.
If a photo request asked for permission to be used elsewhere and I filled it, the original requester or his/her heirs has permission to use the photo(s) in line with what was listed in their photo request.
I will consider OOG (out of guideline) transfers on an individual basis as long as the memorial isn't for a person related to me, but please state the nature of the relationship (family, close friend, etc.). I don't do bulk transfers. I reserve the right to not transfer OOG in certain situations.
I always do a detailed multi-stage search before, and immediately after, adding a new Memorial to avoid creating a duplicate Memorial. However, on rare occasions, an existing name doesn't show up in a search. If that happens, please let me know and I will remove the duplicate Memorial I added. However, if I added the Memorial first, mine is not the duplicate.
Part of this approach includes making sure they are added to the correct cemetery. This includes comparing cemetery records when available to other records, checking obits and death certificates, looking at photos that were taken with GPS-enabled devices, etc. Again, sometimes the research doesn't indicate when a person has been moved from Cemetery A to Cemetery B, or that Cemetery A was later acquired by Cemetery B. I won't add someone based solely on obit or death certificate information as the information may be incorrect.
Update 2: With the new SAC/Edit system, we won't be seeing as many e-mails, but I do check e-mail because some will still come through e-mail and I check the Edits tab on a regular basis.
I try to get to SAC/Edit requests as soon as I see them. If I haven't gotten to your request within a week, please feel free to post a message on my wall with the ID of the Memorial. I check my Spam folder on a regular basis, but I get enough e-mail that a request can occasionally fall through the cracks. The nature of the Edit/SAC will determine how I handle it.
Looking for a variety of names spread mostly across the eastern half of the U.S.
Honoring the memory of my Dad who was in the Air Force, my brother who served in the Marines and Army, and for the many relatives who have served in the military over the years.
Updated 08 May 2014, still alive and kicking.

Would it be OK with you if I post your pictures for Lula Loretta Hadley and her husband Rinaldo Henry Keith Thompson to my tree on Ancestry? This is how I put the information on them: Photo from Find A Grave #_____ submitted by FortheKing. Hope this is OK with you. Lula was my 2nd cousin.
Also, if I run across any other pictures that you have posted to Find A Grave, could I use them, when I give you the credit like I mention above?

Thanks! Another Find a Grave contributor warned me about the lack of oversight on these edits. I do appreciate the streamlining of making edit requests, though.

Looks like someone may have 'hijacked' her memorial. It now states that she was born in Kansas instead of Chester Springs, PA., and that her mother was Fern Krings, which pretty far fetched since Fern didn't marry her husband until she was 32 and would only have been 21 when Mary was born.
I've learned that you really have to keep an on eye on your edits on Find a Grave these days. If you ignore them, Ancestry will just go ahead and approve them without confirming that they are actually correct.
I could put in an edit to correct this memorial, but I thought you should know what happened.

Thank you for processing edit. Of the known siblings who grew to adulthood, they have all been linked to parents except one and I sent an edit for him today. Also sent edit to link Hannah White Shumate to her husband Samuel.
Thank you , then I will accept.

Hettie E. Wilkinson Bush GPS>
Is your GPS edit for the actual grave of Hettie or the cemetery itself?

Just to let you know that yours is a dupe. In this cemetery the original contributor had added maiden names rather than married or both.
Evidently it is allowed.
In any event Some cemeteries in Simcoe co have both so just so you will be aware of this and know what to look for in the future.
Am cleaning up dupes in Creemore at present .
I will add your info and link to Neil so when you delete yours the info will be retained.
Sorry about that . I just was adding info to this surname when I came across it. In Angus cem all females are listed under maiden name.

The only other information on the cemetery sheet was that the owner of the plot for Lela was Naomi Kyle.
The plot location is Mason, Section S, , Lot 60, Grave 5

I thought that I had photographed every stone in the Austin Cemetery, Kitty Hawk, NC, but went back over my files and found a picture of Marrie's stone in another photograph. I have added it to her memorial. Thanks for the request on this. I no longer live in NC but moved to Texas, so I am not in a position to retake the photograph for you in NC. There are other volunteers in the area though if you would like this retaken, you could post again. I will be more than happy to transfer the memorial to you if you like. My direct email is firstname.lastname@example.org. Patrick A. Patterson
