I will be photographing EVERY memorial that is missing a picture until I have documented them all, I expect this project will take several years. I am hoping to be complete by around 2018. There are 18,205 missing photos as of 6/21/2014. Some of the memorials sit very low in the lawn and the grass temporarily covers the name and/or epitaph until the staff can trim around it. I cannot feasibly trim the grass back on all of the markers to get the best picture I would like to take while I am in that section. If the picture I have taken cannot be read, please request another photo, and I, or another volunteer will be happy to trim the grass back on that one marker to get a great picture for you. My apologies in advance!
I am currently working in the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV. I am methodically checking each and every name for errors and/or duplicates and sending requests for corrections. Some volunteers are very responsive, and others.....well, not so much. I am doing the best I can to clean up as many memorials as I can.
If you need help finding an individual in this cemetery, please ASK!! I can look them up by name, dates, or even plot #.
I completed a walk of the entire cemetery from March 31, 2013 to May 5, 2013 and EVERY SINGLE person has now been accounted for, which means there is a memorial for everyone, except the most recently buried/placed. If someone was buried/placed after March 31, 2013, I may have missed them this time, but will catch them sooner or later.
There are 5 names listed on findagrave.com for this cemetery that are NOT actually "IN" this cemetery. I have NOT included 2014 deaths in this list, as they probably were entered off of an obituary, and have not actually been laid to rest yet. The VA has stated that these individuals were either disinterred and relocated, never here in the first place, or the spelling/dates are so far off, that a correct memorial was made and I am unable to link them to their correct name and/or location. Here they are-
Allison, William S.
Beavers, William P.
Little, Philip J.
Markoff, Vasil M.

Gregory, Thank you so much for taking a picture of my father's memorial. I have not been able to get back down to Boulder City since his ashes were placed in the wall. I can't tell you how much this means to me. He was a wonderful father & grandfather.
Sincerely, Ellen Balsdon Berry.

You are welcome, Gregory. I searched and searched for Eva and I could not find her's. I plan to contact the people that manage the cemetery and see if she is in an unmarked grave or located somewhere else. I will continue to search. While there I did take photos of Tommy Leon, Ruffie E., And Virgie W. Hutchison in case you needed them. Frances
