Thank you for following FindAGrave procedures.

Contributor Connie posted this. I thought it was such a great idea I posted it to my page! Thanks, Connie!

Find a Grave has implemented a new way to submit Edits! Unfortunately, there are far too many members for Find a Grave to notify everyone via email, so it's up to us to get the word out. If every member posts this message (or similar) in their profile, hopefully we can help spread the word.

To suggest a correction (SAC) click on the edit tab of the memorial that needs to be corrected. Then click on the link which best describes where your edit should occur. Enter your correction, when you're done, click submit edit. Your request will be sent to the manager of the memorial and will appear in the managers' profile under the Edits tab.

Managers will no longer receive emails. They must go directly to their profile page and click on the Edits tab. Managers can approve, deny or ignore, suggested corrections. It's quick and easy!

The exception:
Requesting a transfer other corrections are still handled the same way. Click on "suggest any other correction or addition," type your message and press "send this message." The manager of the memorial will receive an email.

Please ask permission before posting my personal family photographs, photographs I have taken of grave stones or biographical material I have written from my memorial pages on this site to Ancestry.com or any other website or personal webpages.

Please see FindAGrave Frequently Asked questions for more information:

How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

RE: Paul Vernon Tuttle, Jr
Sorry I didn't send an additional message yesterday to explain. So here's the issue. I don't believe Coralinn is Belle who this particular Paul Tuttle Sr is married to and here is my reasoning.

#1. There is a birth record for Paul showing a birth as 14 July 1883 and the 1900 census shows he was also born in July 1883. Not January 1883 like the headstone states.
#2. I don't believe Belle is a nickname for Coralinn. Coralinn's death record shows she was born in 1889 and died in 1941. Different from Belle's headstone with Paul.
#3. Paul Jr's death record shows his mother's maiden name is Bates (assumed to be Coralinn Bates) which would mean Belle would not be his mother.

Let me know what you think.

Sincerely,
Laura

RE: Madison M. Brewer (#42444149)
What that obituary doesn't seem to mention then, is that Brewer, before attending Columbia University, served as a private in the US Army Signal Corps from September 1882 until October 1887.

My source is the Historical Register & Dictionary of the US Army, Volume 1 (page 243)

That means he was 16 years old at the most when he first joined the Army. Must have lied about his age...

Can I ask where you found his year of birth?

RE: Isreal W. Tennis
That is so sad! I took picture at monument and I'm sending an email to cemetery to verify if he was buried there or not.

RE: Vanderslice
Done! I will do Elderkins as well. Francis Kerr #132006829 shares his stone with his wife Marion. I have a picture for her if you happen to know her memorial number. I couldn't find a memorial for her so I'm not sure if she has one or not. Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

RE: Isreal W. Tennis
It's my understanding that cadets and faculty who died while at the academy in earlier times have their names placed on the monument as a memorial. I'm not sure if that means they're actually buried on West Point. With me not finding his name on interment locator, I'm not positive that he is here (though I could be wrong). I will do my best to find out this week though.

RE: Kent
I will definitely go back to look. It started to get extremely cold so I headed out and wasn't as thorough as I should have been with checking the markers.

RE: Willoughby Sprigg Chesley
My apologies about the links. I guess its getting late and I looked and didn't see the link. I sent you a couple of SAC's for your consideration.
