PLEASE REQUEST TRANSFERS.... If you are related and can enhance the memorial by adding additional information, please request transfer, giving me your relationship. No transfers just for collection of a particular family name. |
If you request a transfer, be sure you are committed to a lifetime of maintaining the memorial. Unfortunately a few of my older transfers are maintained by contributors who no longer respond.
IMPORTANT: When sending information to add, give source of information. Without sources, sorry, but changes will not be made. With new quick edits, this is still important. Unless evident on memorial, please use the other suggestion and include source. Please note that online trees, such as ancestry's, are not valid sources unless documentation is attached to the tree.
We've searched many graveyards, seen stones that were in such disrepair, and wondered what would happen to them as time marched on. This site is a wonderful way to preserve, if not the actual stone, at least a replica by photograph for future genealogists. Our eldest son has also gained in interest in photographing the stones and we have enjoyed working these cemeteries together and searching out requests.
If you have taken better gravestone photos that what we have posted, please post yours and send a message - we will review and delete ours if appropriate.
I may try to contact contributors if I question an edit. For those who hide themselves completely by not showing email or allowing comments, my only choice is to decline and hope they resubmit with additional information.
Happy graving to all!
---Linda & family

If so can I have a copy for my records of her
|Carolyn Troupe Stoll||RE: Hazel Zeigler 37728654|
The date and place of birth came from Steve Belanger and I sent him a not of his source for birth. I will get back to you on that.
But here is some information I did find on Hazel:
In the 1900 census she was 5 years old. In the
PA. and NJ Church and Town records 1708-1985
Hazel's baptisim was Nov. 6,1904 New Kingstown
Cumberland Co. PA. Trinity United Methodist Church.
Record of marriage from PA and NJ town records 1708-1985. June 30, 1927 New Kingstown Cumberland PA
Trinity United Methodist Church.
I do not know how many children they had as that would be private.
I will let you know on the birth date, thought
I would give you what I did find in town records
if you wanted to use them.

married 26 Nov 1817
spouse Josiah Thomas
County: Frederick County Maryland
Maryland marriages are in the card catalog at ancestry.com
This Josiah Thomas, Martha D James' husband was born abt 1794-died 1866. Have not found his gravestone yet. His son Josiah D Thomas born 1829 was in Iowa in 1865 , and is buried in Fremont County, Colorado.
In 1850 Josiah Thomas and Martha D are in Cumberland county Pa, Martha D (James) Thomas died in 1858. In 1860 he is on census with Eliza Thomas 2nd wife but still in Cumberland County Pa.
Family says Martha's middle initial D stands for Dilworth , but have not found anything yet to prove that . Sorry i forgot to give you the marriage record.
