It just broke my heart. I remember reading about the accident. Looking at that sweet (and I'm sure impish) little face was so sad. His grave is well tended.

I have searched the entire cemetery over but have been unable to locate Rufus. I did find several Coopers buried together with one empty plot between the other marked plots. Do you think that maybe his plot is unmarked? Would you like for me to take a photo of the family plot so that you can see what I am referring to?

I contributed 3-4 pics today. It is actually the St. Joseph's Cemetery. St. Joseph's Church says they do not own this cemetery. Maybe many years ago. This cemetery is in deplorable conditions. I was thrilled to find your stone in a clean place. Also note name is different on stone.

I haven't done any look-ups so far, but I am not opposed to trying.
I drive by Bell Cemetery everyday so I will try to stop and look for William Rufus Cooper for you!

Samuel's gravesite is unmarked, so I used a temporary marker (a cross) to show his grave. He is buried in EF West, Block 2, Lot 129, Grave 3. The headstone which you can see in the photo belonging to Dudley Worsham is in Grave 5. I hope this helps! | | | Ronda Crow

You are most welcome. No, there wee no other people named Bales buried next to them, but there are other Baleses in the cemetery in Baker City. They are all on Find a Grave Bales page.
