Obituaries are welcome and encouraged. They are a great help to genealogists and serve as excellent biographical place holders until family shows up to write an original, personalized biography.
Send the complete & unedited obituary, along with the date and name of publication, through the "Sugest any other" edit function. It will be placed on the memorial quickly.

RE: Ft Custer
We've finally caught up with your list. It was in the 20's during the night but at least 99% of the snow is now gone. It makes it easier to find the gravestones.

RE: McClintock
This is to confirm, 10 months, DOD 17 October 1879. Address at time of death is similar to other people buried there (Upper Manhattan, west side.)

Fort Snelling Section 37
I went ahead with Conrad Beergman and Richard Besonen
because the grounds in this particular area are as good as other area's this time of year. But feel free to request again

FYI: We are having trouble with photo's for new stones at Fort Snelling as they have stopped blackening the stones. Something about lowering costs.

So photos are more difficult to take unless you have the Sun in the right place. We are trying to do our best.

RE: Martha W. Garrett Newell

My request for change was base on the attached hyperlink newspaper story regarding the death of Martha's son, Wesley, during World War 2.

I did not personally know the family, and I guess the author of the article could have gotten it wrong, but this is the basis of my request.

RE: Stanley H. Newell

Mr Newell was from my old neighborhood in Brooklyn. His son, Wesley, was a friend of my Dad, and was also the first casualty from World War 2 from our neighborhood.

This is a hyperlink to Mr Newell's obituary from the Brooklyn Daily Eagle showing his address and where he was being interred.

If you'd like to copy the hyperlink to his bio, you can use this:

columbarium & 2M
can you open the vc's that you have on these 2. I got home way too late last night to write them all down. I'll go on Monday or Wednesday to take the pics. I'll be home after 9PM tonight to record them. So leave the vc open until tomorrow afternoon.

RE: Section 37

I am going to take the photo as I only have so many days and it is removed from my requests.

Will take the photos and keep the memorial numbers on my special list (FOR MY FAMILY PHOTOS) for RETAKE when the section looks much better. I can then delete the original photos.
