Thanks Maureen:

Not sure the sideways image (second one on the page) adds anything. While the inscription is impossible to decipher in the other, at least it's right side up.

Best to you.
Joe

RE: Bloomfield Edits
Hi Maureen:

Thanks for the note. My information comes from two sources:

1. Patty B. Myers's 1995 work "Ancestors and Descendants of Lewis Ross Freeman ...", which includes a great (and well documented) Bloomfield genealogy. This sources contains many early (late 19th- and early 20th-century) recordings of Middlesex County gravestone inscriptions.

2. The Genealogical Society of New Jersey's gravestone inscriptions list for the Old Colonial Cemetery, currently being published in The Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey. This list based on gravestone inventories done by the Society in this location in 1945-6 and 1952.

The Bloomfields are all cousins of mine, so feel free to transfer any you would like, if you are considering this. The connection is way back, of course, so I certainly do not expect transfer. I'm glad to help regardless. Please don't hesitate to ask for clarification of any of my edit requests. I limited them to parent/spouse links that are certain and vital dates as are (or were) evident from the gravestones themselves.

Best regards, and thanks again for creating the memorials.

RE: Vincent (Rongnion) Runyon
Good morning,
I received my information from the records at the Piscataway Library. However when I went to this little graveyard most headstones were missing and or unreadable. It was awhile ago but I believe I informed the family that this was an approximate location. That's why I included a photo of both headstones.
Hope that helps. Have a great day.
