Addictive reader, interested in geneaology, folk music and sacred harp, Anglican, guitar player, singer, guardian of two rescue dogs.

I enjoy walking in cemeteries and have made it a personal project to photograph and record the headstones of military personnel in addition to requests in local cemeteries, in honor of their service and the service of my father, stepfather, and uncles in World War II and Korea. If any of these service persons or others I have added are family members and/or you wish to manage their memorials, just let me know. I am happy to transfer.

Anyone who wants to use my photos in their family tree, on findagrave, or any other site may do so without my permission.

RE: Take a look
Hi, will take a look this evening, it looks like Maria Pike might be the mother to my Charles Edson Pike, wife of Samantha Ellen Long Pike. Need to find a little more about her...

Thank you!

Have a blessed day!

I just stumbled across the new Edit feature! Sorry for the delay and I'll get the updated info you offered processed.

Always feel free to send edits to my personal email address as they will probably be done a lot faster.

Did you get that snow a couple of days ago?! Happy spring!

RE: wondering
Hiers family - Harry E, Leoti R, Iris H and another Leoti R with no info, noted as an old stone that was illegible.

Then Reid - so the one you are probably asking about is the one for an Leoti R that was illegible

re: Newell Randall
Hello! Hope this finds you well.

Linking a sibling is a relatively new feature and for some reason I can not figure out how to do this. Additionally, when I started searching for the parents and siblings, I found more than one memorial listed. I do not know which memorial/person would be the correct one so I thought it best to transfer over to you. Hope you do not mind.

Have a great day!

Kind regards,

RE: John B. Long.
I still do not have conclusive proof that he is there, but I think I am going to add the obituary from the paper. Gibsonburg had a devastating fire in 1895 and that could explain the missing death certificate. I am still waiting to hear from a friend who can check on the Mormon records for me.

As far as I can tell at this point, not directly.

But I am glad you are online today. I have new information on my GGG Grandfather John B.Long.
The Wood County Democrat dated Feb 15, 1895 states:
"The remains were brought here on the 8:39 T. & O.C. train Tuesday morning and were conveyed to the home of J.F. Long ( Jacob F. Long ) on West Wooster street. The funeral, which was attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives, was held at the M. E. church Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Rev. French, of Weston, conducted the service. Interment in Oak Grove cemetery.

This is the first paper to state that he was indeed buried at Oak Grove. In the information that I received. They also stated that the "John B. Long farm is now a part of BGSU and that he was buried in the big BG cemetery at the edge of the campus. " ( 1978)

This last part was from correspondence between Ruby Garn Engle and Robert Veh. Robert Veh was running the Veh funeral home at the time. I am going to see if I can contact Nan over at the Hayes and see what else might be there. What do you think? any ideas?

Thank you for photographing my grandmother's headstone. I live in Chicago and never had the opportunity to visit her or my grandfather Adolph's gravesites. Next best thing to being there. Thanks again!

RE: Wm. Driscoll photos
That is the reverse side of the marker. I haven't looked very hard, but from what I've found Stillman Rice married Kat Radabaugh and they had Della Rice who married William James Driscoll. That takes care of Rice, Radabaugh, and Driscoll but I am not sure where the fourth name comes in. There are probably several relatives all buried there since all 4 names are represented. If you call the cemetery office, they can print out the list of everyone in that lot, listed by grave number. There were no individual markers other than the one large one.
