Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been interested in genealogy since 2004. I am retired and live in Gambrills, Maryland. My main genealogy interests are in Western Maryland and S. Central Pennsylvania. My wife is also involved in her genealogy in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. We visit cemeteries to find our ancestors' stones and markers. I enjoy photographing the monuments.

Main families of interest are Minnich (Minich), Keefauver, Lemen, Harsh and Stone, Craig, Lydic, and Buterbaugh. Others are Johnston, Swonger, Lloyd, and Miner.

If I have made a duplicate, please contact me and it will be deleted quickly. Use edit button to add corrections. Also, since only five free photo spots per memorial are allowed in findagrave, please do not add unnecessary photos to any memorials. Save room for future personal photos from family. Unnecessary photos include close-up photos of the plot number on markers and the cemetery plot signs. The plot number should be entered in the Bio plot section of the memorial not as a picture. Obituaries should be typed in the Bio sect and not added as photos. Transfers may be made if you ask using the EDIT button and also state relationship. You have my permission to use my grave stone / marker photos for your private use. For any use of my family or my rescue-orphan photos please contact me. Hopefully, you will source or link the photos. It never hurts to give someone credit for helping you.

I have been purchasing "orphan-rescue" antique photos with names sufficient to search and find a 'home' for them. Some success has been had. There are photo albums of Hellyers (Seneca F., etc. - PA) and Hopkins (Arthur, Lewis, etc.) that are awaiting family. Please visit my Rescue-Orphans Virtual Cemetery.

I try to be a friend to all and will help where possible.

Findagrave is as good as we make it.

Orphan Photos
The work that you are doing with the orphan photos is a wonderful idea! I have just found one that you added to memorials in Cold Springs Baptist Cemetery, and I was so happy to see it. The people are early settlers in my community. I have recently begun to try to collect and identify people in old photos who were early settlers of Cold Springs. The identities of people in so many old photos have already been lost, and it is such a shame! I have started a Facebook group called "Cold Springs History Archives" to try to accomplish this project. I know that other people in this group would enjoy seeing this picture. May I add it to our archives? Thank you so much for your work! Phyllis Gwendolyn Speegle ( "Gwen" on FindaGrave)

Thank you so much for the photo. Carlton is my 2nd cousin 5x removed my marriage.

Your photo rescuing is so much appreciated. I wish all photos were labeled so we would know who, where, and when they where take.

Hardesty family cemetery, Friendship
I've been researching AA Co. cemeteries for over 20 years. I don't know where to find this cemetery. I'd like to visit, verify information, take photos and a GPS for our cemetery records.

I received your message regarding the photo you added to Caroline's memorial. I have no problem at all with photos being adding and hopefully a family member might see it and be thrilled.

I recently messaged another gentleman like you who collects old photos and added one for a relative who died in 1859. In his case the name and dates were also on the back.

Donaldson
Dear Mr. Minnich: When you created the memorial for Robert Donaldson, buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Brooklyn Park, MD, did you find a grave stone for him? I am trying to locate the grave of his wife, Mary Ann Jeffries Buckley Donaldson (1826-?). She last appears on the 1910 federal census but I cannot find an obituary or even a death notice. Is she buried with her husband? Many thanks for whatever you may be able to tell me. My interest in this couple stems from the fact that he was a soldier in the 147th Regiment NYSV. Best wishes, Natalie J. Woodall, PhD
