Angeles Abbey
I see you have had trouble also in gaining access to this location. I have several family members in this building and want to know if you have had any luck yet? I appreciate the security but at the same time life goes on for family and we should not be locked out from the "Prison" as you have stated. Any information is appreciated.

RE: Ledbetter
Ken has Lola Nancey Ledbetter, b. 1900, daug. of George Melton Dallas Ledbetter, son of Benjamin, son of Buckner, son of Arthur Ledbetter. 'Milton' makes more sense. He lists 10 children for George and a few families beyond for some of them. 3 children are listed for Lola.

James Calvin Ledbetter is son of Levi, son of Aaron, son of Buckner, son of Arthur. There are two cousins with the name James Calvin so researchers need to be careful. Anyway, your connection with us is Buckner. You're right, it's a little distant.

James died West of Burksville, KY and the family scattered. One son settled in Westfield, IL and you'll find his mother, Sarah Jane Long Ledbetter buried there in the Maple Hill cemetery.

RE: Ledbetter
Hi LeeAnn,

You can contact me directly at tdhintz at gmail dot com.

Kenneth E Haughton, Ph.D. Compiled a book called Lebetters Revisited in 2000. I have one of the last print copies he sold. It's huge. However, you can still get a copy from him on CD for basically the cost of his time to give it to you. He has an in depth analysis of the DNA data, which is quite interesting. The printed book has very little on the James Calvin Ledbetter line, but the cd may include the info. we provided after the book printing. Email me if you want his address of phone number. I suspect the email address I have for him is still good: khaughton at Juno dot com. I'll get back to you on the other branch.

Ledbetter
So, yes you are a cousin. Both the line of George Ledbetter and Julia Howard, and my wife's line of James Calvin Ledbetter descend from Authur Ledbetter. If you own a copy of Ledbetters Revisited these would be 10BA and 10BP respectively. Both lines really trace to Overton Co, TN.

Ledbetters
Putnam Co TN sounds familiar. I'll look tonight.

Are you familiar with the DNA project? You might be a cousin :)

Ledbetters
What is your connection with the Ledbetters buried in Romney Indiana? We're trying to figure out why two brothers settled there. The family was from S. Central Kentuky.
