I have been interested in genealogy, cemeteries and history for a very long time. I began researching my family genealogy in 1990, and with the help of a distant cousin found most of what I knew about my family name was wrong. Since then I've added over a thousand people to my family tree, which goes back to Germany, Ireland, Canada, England and now with my husband's tree.. Armenia and Italy. |
I am also the caretaker at the North Weymouth Cemetery. I've worked there for over 23 years and love to help people find their ancestors. Because of that desire to share the history that I oversee, I've photographed and posted all slate and marble headstones at the cemetery on Flickr, which can be found via Google or the cemetery's web site: www.sites.google.com/site/nwcemtery/
While looking in other cemeteries, I've taken photos of stones I find interesting. Rather than just sit on these photos, I've started creating FAG pages for them. I have been fortunate enough to have found a number of my ancestors on FAG, and I hope I can do the same for someone else.
I am happy to transfer any of my non-relatives to people who have a direct link to them. Just ask.

Hi Paula --
I did not know what the resolution process for a circumstance like this is so I checked the FAQ (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?searchArg=combine+memorials&page=listFaqs#141).
It appears that one of the two memorials should be deleted with unique info incorporated into the one remaining. Even with the guidelines given in the FAQ, it appears to me that neither of you is absolutely forced to delete your memorial. If neither of you agree to do so, and 'Administration' finds out about the duplicates, they make a decision.
Hope this helps.
My wife & I just wanted to thank you for helping us out yesterday. She would have been a mess without that phone! You and your co-worker went above the call of duty to get it back to us. It was a pleasure to meet you.
I didn't get your co-worker's member name, and I would like to thank her as well. Can you remind me what it is?
Thanks so much.

How wonderful to have the nice photos of both John & Elizabeth Saunders!! I was hoping that they would have markers since Hannah (John's wife & Elizabeth's mother) already had a marker photo. I know these old markers are difficult at times, but these appear to be well preserved. Thanks so very much. Diane
