Rosedale Cemetery, Orange, New Jersey
Hi - I have many ancestors buried in Rosedale Cemetery and have been trying for over 1-1/2 years to get copies of any records. I've offered to pay!! No one in the office will write me or call me back. Do you have any suggestions? I even know a local lady who is willing to take photos and get the info for me, but she was told they no longer allow that. I live in Arkansas and can't get there any time soon.
Thank you,
Tracy Sublett

I have not seen any Mellick graves and am delighted to have you make the correction. All my info came from the "Old Farm" book.

You have incorrectly transcribed the death date from the tombstone as 1941.

The death year should be 1949.

His actual death date per my records was 07 OCT 1949 which you could not have know from the tombstone

So sorry. For some reason I thought you were someone that I'd corresponded with a few years ago. Oops.

So the plot thickens. Harrison Whittingham's obituary indicates that he was interred next to his parents. They were originally at St Mark's but in 1902 were re-interred at St Stephens in Millburn, NJ. That gravesite I've visited.

Yes, please do send me copies of those gravestone photos. My email is

Thanks a bunch!

RE: Harrison & Sara Whittingham
No, I've not seen markers for these two. I've been trying to figure out why I have them in St Mark's but it's not noted on Ancestry. I have a feeling that I got it from a book on that cemetery but all my genealogy-related books are still in boxes in the garage so I can't check it right now. Do you still have my email address? Thanks, Christine

I'm a bit confused

The Red Bank Register indicates that Richard
West is the son of Charles E. West and
Ida (Brown) West and that his wife is
Ruth (Pray) West.

Is this information correct, or did the RBR
err big time?
