Well, I'm just a old fashioned guy at heart, who feels that we need to preserve our cultural heritage. Here, in The United States, I see our history being distorted, re-written, re-arranged, tarnished, and or erased all together and whether it's being done on purpose or being done through ignorance, I don't know, but I'm entirely against it. As far as, Find-A-Grave is concerned, those who have passed away and are now being entered here on this website, were apart of our history and our heritage and should be remembered. It has always been my belief that nobody should be forgotten and it is also my belief that The United States, my home, is a great country and it's history, good or bad, should be protected and preserved at every level. | |

 | RE: Yvonne King Thanks so much for sending this. I'm embarrassed that it was 2 years ago and I hadn't noticed it in my inbox. I must have missed the note at the time. Many thanks, Great video of Yvonne and all the sisters. I remember them fondly from seeing them live on 2 or 3 occasions. Tom S. | | | Dreaming Casually

 | RE: Samuel L. Terry Just want to make sure you 'young' guys out there keep on your toes.......LOL, I'm kidding!!
As a researcher of my family ancestry and history, I truly depend on FindAGrave and 'you' Roland, and all the other guy's and gal's out there doing this type of work, and recording of Headstone's and Surname's, and it's wonderful for us as researcher's, to be able to look up and make a connection of the Pedigree's of the past family member's and loved one's. Not only do you make the effort to get the job done, but you also take great photo's as well, whether it's in the Cold of Winter or the Heat of Summer, I take my hat off to everyone of you out there, Great Job Done!

 | Marine Thrush Bonham Read your bio. Amen to that! History is history. Don't revise it. Feel free to comment on it, but don't try to change the facts. I want to thank you for your fotos of my family's graves. I was carpooling to Sacramento, and managed to talk the driver into stopping at Stockton Rural Cemetery. On limited time, and armed with find a grave printouts of several family members' memorials, I was able to locate everyone except William Thrush Jr, because he was the only one who didn't have a grave foto. These fotos do make a difference in many ways. They make the site look nicer, they provide data, they show what graves looked like in that era, may hint at the family's social status, show interesting architectural styles, confirm that a person is atually at that cemetery, etc. They provide comfort and a personal connection to that person, and they may list a spouse or other person who is not mentioned in that memorial. Thanks for what you are doing. It is a great service to the community. | | | MooreToots
