A sad day today....we lost our Flora|
You meet all kinds of people on Findagrave... most of whom are helpful and co-operative. Just spending a few minutes a day on Findgrave can provide a great deal of genealogical input. Thank you for your co-operation! If I can assist anyone, please contact me.
My father, David Kennedy, was an avid genealogical researcher, so you could say, this was one of my inherited interests. He started his search in 1959 after meeting then Senator John F. Kennedy in Washington, DC. He asked my father if we were Catholic or Protestant Kennedys, after which Senator Kennedy suggested that since we were not Catholic, we must have entered the US via Northern Ireland. And the search continues...
Some of my direct lines are Kennedy, Clayton, Merritt, Head, Prothro, Crouch, Wright, Goodwin, Bledsoe, Breazeale, Smith, Guyton, Moorhead, Kirksey, Wyatt, Griffin, Richardson, Meyer, Johnston, Lott, Knox, Gaston, Barnett, Ray, Sharp, Alverson. I have been working on my genealogy since the 1990s. I always try to give credit to those who have done genealogical research ... just a very common courtesy.... Thanks y'all.

In answer to your question, Sunnyside....is that a section name? I don't know for sure. I believe that's what I was given but I didn't ask for clarification... Sorry.

Yes I'm a John Turner and Michael descendant. The Willises did believe in marrying their cousins! First cousins married each other in about 3 generations of my line.
I asked Bob last night how you were related and he said he thought through John Turner and Michael. I don't know if you were aware Bob added you to our Descendants of Robt. and Keziah Willis page on FB. I sent you a FB friend request yesterday. Bob said you ARE Findagrave in that area! lol

You're welcome! We are cousins some way, not sure how. Wish I could have met you at the Willis cousins "union" this past July. We plan on doing it again next year. Hope you can come!

You are very welcome for the articles. There have actually been 2 VERY rude people on Find A Grave. But, no worries! I love working with you!

It really is a small world. I've placed a couple of photos of her and some newspaper clippings on her page. I remember going to the mortuary for her visitation and to the funeral. Her parents and husband Clyde were so devastated. We were too. She lived just two houses down from us back when we were kids. Mary used to give Nancy's hand-me-down clothes to my sister and me. I have really missed her so much all these years. I visited her grave in Mauldin a few weeks ago. It had been years since I had stopped by. So nice to meet one of her family members again. :)

Hi, Fran. I just noticed flowers you left for Nancy Chastain Blair and see that you called her Cousin. Are you related? If so, wow... it's such a small world! She was my neighbor when we were children. We grew up together, played together, and spent Christmases at each others houses. I miss Hugh and Mary, and most of all, Nancy.
