If I have added your family member and you would like to manage their memorials please request a transfer. My goal is to reunite family members with their loved ones. |
I photographed half of the Pine Grove Cemetery in Freeland before the weather got too bad to continue. I have uploaded all the photos I have taken so far. I will finish photographing in the spring.

Hi Rose: Jerry again. I just discovered Mark Edson son in Midland City Cemetery. Jerry
|Jeremiah Putnam||Mark Edson Putnam|
Hi Rose: I am Jerry Putnam and am 2nd cousin 2X removed from Mark and his wife Charlotte Sheldon Putnam. I have information to link Mark and Charlotte to other Putnams in Shiawassee and Clinton Counties south of you. I have traveled to Shiawassee on three different occasion and discovered the land my great grandfather (2X), Cornelius Putnam, pioneer in the Township of Sciota (a year before statehood for Michigan). On Putnam Road, there is a wonderful small cemetery (Putnam Cemetery) where numerous Putnams are buried. I think I have the linkage for all of them. I would be happy to either give you the information to provide the linkage or would be willing to manage their memorial should you decide on a transfer.
Thank you for helping me to find Mark and Charlotte. Yours is a labor of love. Jerry (Jeremiah) Putnam

|Anita M.||Etienne Couture|
I added Stephen in parenthesis to help others after Etienne. I had forgotten about the French, Latin and English of the names, depending on who wrote the record. Anita

|Anita M.||Marguerite Lebeau Couture|
I found her burial in "Souls of St. Antoine's Cemetery of Frenchtown, Monroe County, Michigan & Their Heroines", page 47, wife of Etienne Couture son of Jean Baptiste Couture and Catherine Campau.
Genealogy of French Families of the Detroit River Region 1701-1963 by Rev. Fr. Christian Denisson, VOl. 2 - page 1083 shows daughter Margaret's parents as Stephen and Elizabeth.
Now I am confused, could Etienne have had two names?
