William Chapline (1625-1669) arrived in Calvert County, Maryland in 1651. I am looking for "evidence" linking him to his father, Isaac Chapline (1584-1628), who arrived in Jamestown, Virginia in 1610 and lived with his wife Mary at "Chapline's Choice" near Jordan's Point on the James River in 1622.|
I am particularly interested in learning more about my 5th great grandfather, Joseph Chapline (1707-1769),who served in the French and Indian War and founded Sharpsburg in Washington County, Md. in 1763. My lineage includes his descendants: Jeremiah Chapline (1756-1809) and his wife Elizabeth Nourse Chapline (1765-1846) Washington County, Md., James Nourse Chapline (1796-1830) and his wife Catharine Hebb Chapline (1796-1864)Washington County, Md., William Richardson Chapline (1820-1899) and his wife Margaret Ann Hout Chapline (1825-1885) of Shepherdstown, Jefferson County, WV., Charles Luther Chapline (1865- ?) and Marietta Delauder Chapline (1867-1943) Baltimore, Md.
Other family lines of which I am a descendant: Manning and Dobson families from Maryland and Virginia. Thomas , Garrett, and Mizell families from Baker County, Florida. Clayton and Dennard families from Suwannee County, Florida.
I also maintain memorials for my wife's family, Lewis, Coleman, Douglas, and Morris from Van Alstyne, Grayson County, Texas.

|Deb Shoemaker Davis||Chapline-Thompson marriages|
In June, I spent some time in the Washington County,MD Land Records Department. I found a land deed record verifying & documenting as husband & wife; Alexander Thompson & Ruhama Chapline Thompson (record date-1788). I think this offical record with their seals is conclusive evidence of their marriage. There is also a land deed found for Deborah Chapline Thomson & John Thomson (1791). The spelling drops the "p" as in the marriage records.

I have made those transfers per your request. If there are more you need feel free me know.
Also, I am searching for any info regarding the roster for the 33rdBattalion of the Maryland Militia. An ancestor I am searching for, Thomas Mock, who served with this unit in New Jersey in 1777 under George Washington. He had a wife names Sarah and parents were George & Catherine Mock. They were from "SUPPOSEDLY" living between Sharpsburg and Middletown, MD.
If you run across anything that may put me in their direction, I thank you in advance.

I did not find the Chaplain markers. I thought perhaps they were low markers and still covered by snow. We are to have a bit of rain in the next few days and I hope to try again after the rain.

|Bonnie Sisson Manning||Sissons and Manning|
I know a Sisson who might help you with the Sissons in Missouri. Her name is Janice Rice - her bio is on Find A Grave.
My husband might know a little bit about a few lines of the Mannings.

I've posted for you photos of the stone for Dorothea Stoddard at Arlington National. Her husband, Seymour, is not buried with her or adjacent to her.
