Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am slowly working on photographing Ascension Cemetery because it is closest to my home. I am not related to most of those buried there. I consider it my contribution to the find-a-grave website as a return favor for those who have photographed entire cemeteries far away, greatly helping my own personal family research.

I've been side-tracked lately with photographing Loma Vista in Fullerton. Done with photographing the Northeast, Cypress, East and Grandview Lawns in the older part of the cemetery. Currently working on the Rose Lawn. Mostly what I consider "mass production" by sweeping the stones, taking a picture and posting memorials just to get the names out there.

I am a volunteer like you. The owner of this cemetery promises to call the police on any Find A Grave volunteer.
You can always request again, but I promise you that the photo(s) you seek can be easily and quickly and reliably procured another way.
There has been great success with the San Luis Obispo County Genealogical Society. They completed exhaustive photographing of headstones at San Luis Cemetery in the past 5 years, and they will share them with you.
You can email a request for a photo of the headstone(s) you are looking for, by doing the following, and they will respond promptly:
Address your email to
slocgs@gmail.com
Put in the subject line
San Luis Cemetery Headstone photo

Give them the name and birth and death dates, or as much as you know.
Ask them to send a picture of the headstone, and tell them how you are related or what your interest is in this person.
They will appreciate that. This information may only be used in genealogical research.
They will email you within a day or two with an attached photo(s), if it exists.
I will ask that your request be removed (so others arenít discouraged), now that you have a very reliable and quick way to achieve your goal. If there is any problem, please let me know.
As a reference here is the website for the index for all the burials and headstones at San Luis Cemetery through 2010. http://www.slocgs.org/pdf-files/SLO-Cem-Location.pdf
Best wishes.

Hello! This is just to let you know that I will be fulfilling your photo request with a photo of the area, only. There is no marker. This entire area seems to have a lot of unmarked graves. I had two like this today, and it is always disappointing.

There is a remote possibility that there is a stone and that it is buried beneath the sod. I did poke around with my trowel, but I could not feel anything. If you want to be completely sure, you might try calling the office and ask if there is supposed to be a stone. If there is, let me know and I can put in a work order to have it uncovered.

Regards,
B.J.

RE: Elder Cemetary
Hello,

My computer is down and it seems to do that whenever I start doing genealogy but I have been doing volunteer work at LDS site for indexing, esp. passenger lists and I am getting very good at reading the old script. My e-mail is still ecmemphis@hotmail.com. I'm in Ms for now. There has been tremendous activity on F-A-G since I started in 2002 and some of my work(pics) have been bumped for others so that has been disconcerting esp on my own relatives. My original goal was to take pics of the deteriorating stones that would be unreadable by now 2015. Glad you are still at it. E
