Bio Photo I have now been a member of Find A Grave for over 3 years and I can't remember how I came across this site. I think I was looking for the grave of a famous person, but can't be too sure. Anyway it is a great site because it allows you to connect with other people who have lost a friend or family member.
I live in Australia.

John Inman
He was in fact, not unlike his alter ego Mr Humphreys, perhaps a little more serious, but overall , much the same.Dressing rooms are not the most inviting of places but he always managed to make his warm and inviting, quite a talent on a cold English winters night. He always had time for his fans, not all actors are like that, some will duck out the front to avoid signing autographs and others can be very sarcastic, but John treated them all as individuals, which is, to be fair , what you're supposed to do. I am not alone in thinking that he had been ill for some time before his official announcement, the boyish spring had gone from his step and he looked tired and drawn.Still, he did make seventy, that's not too bad for a man and in one sense he's never really left us, the DVD's and films of his work live on, but I'm sure, in my heart of hearts,he was ready to go, quite aside from his illness, he was from a generation that had to hide so much and bite their tongue, that must have been very wearing.I wish him well, where ever he is now.

Dear Rachel

Thank you for your message of support.

I remember John most particularly from the period I played in the orchestra for pantomime. Many actors are rather unlovable egotists when you meet them face to face, but John was just as you see him on stage and on the television, everybody loved him.

We always seem to find ourselves saying goodbye to the people who brighten our lives, and saying it far too soon.Perhaps because they are the ones who give so much of themselves they need to rest.

Best wishes.
