You are welcome for the photo. Yes it is in the Bohn Chapel Columbarium near the front of the entrance to the cemetery. Her space, as you could see, was decorated up with memorials. Many of the others were done like that too. There was a stain glass window in front of the building and, I'm sure you noticed, I got a reflection from the glass. I tried several different angles but the photo I attached was the best.

Are you ready for fall? Tomorrow is the big day!

Hi Susan,

Yes, the cemetery is very nice! My mother is buried there, and soon my father. I even have a spot (plot) right next to them, ready for when my time comes! So, I am all set. Now, I just need to keep updating all of the memorials at Madronia so I can make a contribution to its longevity and its impact on history!

Thank you for correcting the gravestone for Joe. I know all too well how confusing it can become when updating memorials!

Thank you again for taking those photos! I do not need higher resolution photos. The ones you uploaded are perfect and will make the families happy. :)

Hi Susan!

Those photos are perfect! I can click on them and make them bigger and see the great detail. Thank you for that. :)

I noticed that you posted Joseph Blake's big memorial marker on Joe's memorial page. Are they both on the same marker? Just thought I would ask for clarification.

Thank you again. I so appreciate photographs that have good detail. It is just so nice. Sometimes the gravestone photo is the closest a relative will ever get to seeing where their loved ones are buried.

Deb :)

RE: Viola Burdge
You're welcome. I was just happy to have found it. There are other Burdge burials in the area. I'm not sure if they are related, but I've seen the name in a few cemeteries in Monmouth and Ocean County, Nj. If you need any additional photos just let me know.

RE: Salah Barnard
Susan, these types of stones once stood upright. They are only a couple inches thick. Over time they collapsed and became buried by topsoil. I have seen a few of this type monument remain standing. The inscription has always been on a single side with ornate carvings on the opposing.

They really are not designed to last. May have looked pretty back in the day but no thought of longevity.

As you can see in the photo(s) I had to remove quite a bit of soil to get at what you can see. The soil (grass) creeps in from the sides until you can only view the middle. Give it another few years and the stone would be completely buried.
