|Descendants of Richard Dotson Sr 1752 to ca.1847, is an Ancestry tree, I am an Editor on. I wanted to help others looking for their trees to be able to find their ancestors. |
Saving History is a fun and full filling way to help others. I am unable to go take photos because of physical limitations, this is a great way to help.

The memorial for Greta Helen Fling includes a photo of the inscription only. It was already there when you visited to leave virtual flowers (which is nice of you). Someone in her family placed the actual flowers at her grave.

Oops, sorry. Generally I leave flowers that other people have already put at graves because it isn't my place to move them. But I did notice the ones I put at my great-grandmother's headstone on Easter blocked crucial information from the photo I took that day. Thank you for reminding me to switch out that picture (it was bothering me too--info trumps colors!) and to check for others that may be difficult to read, and in the future I'll try harder to work around flowers to show inscriptions in their entirety. Thanks for your useful advice and your contributions on Find A Grave. The memorials you've made are very nicely done.

The marriage certificate on wvculture site for Harry Alkire and Dessie Cox has Dessie's parents being the same as Dessa. Even though the age is off 3 yrs, I would figure this is her. Harry's parents are different than Howard's, so I would assume Harry is different than Howard.

I couldn't find anything to confirm that they were married. I found a marriage certificate for Howard where he married Hallie Fay Tharp in 1923, but nothing else. I don't know anyone buried in this cemetery, I just photographed and added all the records I found.

You have a photo request for this person in Michigan Memorial Cemetery. It's quite a large cemetery. You should probably call them and get a grave location if you want your request fulfilled.

|Phyllis (Porter) Zegers||Earl Dotson|
Hi, My name is Phyllis Zegers. I have been researching patients who have died at the Oregon State Hospital and whose cremains were never claimed. The person I am currently researching is Earl Dotson. I have been updating his Find A Grave memorial (# 69403467) by adding his death certificate and developing his biography. However I don't know much about him. I see that you left a flower in 2012 and have the same last name. Do you happen to know more about Earl? I was hoping my research might lead to living relatives who would want to claim his ashes that are still available at the state hospital. Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Cathy, Thank you for your sweet note. I appreciate your words of encouragement and support. Thanks to you, Betty and everyone else for their tireless devotion to the Dotson My Family site and the successful transfer of all the family treasures into Ancestry.
|Robin Henry||Francis Dotson|
Thanks for the transfer, Cathie I'll take good care of him -- and thanks for the compliment, but it's just that I understand (and can afford) this site. I bow before you and Betty et al with all your amazing work with the Dotsons on MyFamily and (grumble grumble) Ancestry. I hope we can find a good new home.
Its all a collaboration -- an amazing journey walking together from present to past and back again!
Thanks for all you are doing --
