Descendants of Richard Dotson Sr 1752 to ca.1847, is an Ancestry tree, I am an Editor on. I wanted to help others looking for their trees to be able to find their ancestors.
Saving History is a fun and full filling way to help others. I am unable to go take photos because of physical limitations, this is a great way to help.
Good Hunting!

RE: Richard Dotson
Hi my name is Mary Morris and I'm trying to find some information about Richard Dotson I found his Grave Photo but still don't have much information about his Military History. All I know is that he served in the Revolutionary War but I'm trying to find some way to get some kind of information about his Family. Mostly is Daughter and Granddaughter Nancy Jane Scott Morris. She Married Abraham William Morris. If you can help me with anything please send me a message at memx4@yahoo.com or on Ancestry.com Thank You for your time.

RE: Thank You
You are most welcome. Sadly the OH weather is not kind to headstone inscriptions.

Blessings,
Linda

RE: Thank You
You are so very welcome. I enjoy going out and looking for headstones and cleaning them up if they are in need. My mom used to do the same thing before she passed but she did it just to be doing it and did not know about findagrave.com If you need anything else just give me a shout.

Thanks, Cathie!
Cathie,
Thank you! Just bumped into another find of yours, and was able to add some more. Makes no difference which person it was about, but I just wanted to give you a thank you for all of the work you have done. Very much appreciated!

RE: Mattie Harvey
Thanks for the info. It seems the name Hervey was misread from Harvey for many folks! Your direct knowledge takes authority over old records. The Harvey name was very prominent here during the 19th and 29th centuries. There almost 60 markers for Harvey and 18 for Hervey. I wonder how many other transcription errors these two families share? :)

It is always disappointing when I cannot find a marker.

Regards,
Brad

RE: Dotsons in Coleman Cemetery
Thanks for this message, and for your kind note.
It looks like there are two names for the same cemetery, and so there are two entries for the same cemetery on Find A Grave. I'll contact an admin to ask that they be combined.

This always annoys people because it means someone will lose the memorials she or he created...the earliest one gets to stay. So, if the cemeteries are combined, then I'll lose my memorial. It didn't exist under Coleman but does under the alternate name of Freeman - Coleman.

And, thanks for all that you do. Spectacular collection of research you and your cohorts have done. Cindy

Dotsons in Coleman Cemetery
Hi! I answered your photo requests in Masonic Memorial in Doddridge Co. While I was there, I noticed there is another, older cemetery behind the Masonic Memorial. It is called Coleman or Coleman Family Cemetery. I photographed headstones of
Marshall Avery Dotson, Delia Dotson and Carson Dotson who already had memorials, but lacked photos.

I created a memorial and posted a headstone photo for Timothy Dotson Maze. He seems to have been related to the Marshall and Delia because his headstone is with theirs.

RE: Masonic Memorial in Doddridge County
Thanks for the kind note.
I was also at Coleman, which is attached to Masonic Memorial. There were Dotson interred there as well, and I'll let you know if I find anything in my photos not already documented on Find A Grave.
