Hillcrest Mausoleum I am very impressed with the work you have done on Hillcrest. That must have been quite a job. I don't know if you are familiar with the work of Rob Minteer. He posted lots of memorials in Cascade county using lists he found on-line. These lists don't contain a lot of info and also contain a lot of incorrect info. For instance, if they were in doubt about the spelling of a name they posted it in any possible way. I have spent the last few years working with Rob trying to get rid of as many of the duplicates and wrong spellings as possible and to add at least death dates. He has been pretty easy to work with. I recently started working on Hillcrest. I was surprised to see 280 memorials without markers when I started. I guess I didn't realize you could be entombed there without a marker. I have asked him to delete quite a few incorrect spellings which he has done. I noticed yesterday that for some reason instead of deleting his incorrect spelling he changed the spellings to reflect the same spelling as your memorial. Then you were posting your photos to his memorials. For this I apologize to you. He has never taken that approach before. I am not done with Hillcrest but am leaving town until the end of the year so I wanted you to know what is going on. I also wanted to point out to you that I have noticed a lot of more current memorials being posted to Hillcrest just because it says in the obit that the memorial service will be at Hillcrest. I have notified quite a few people that I don't think their memorial belongs in Hillcrest because it does not say they are being entombed there and that Schnider just uses their chapel for their services. Of course, most of them have just ignored me. It appears you had access to the records when you were photoing the mausoleum. Maybe if you contact these people and tell them that the name doesn't show up in the records they will listen to you. It is pretty easy to pick them out. If you ask for a list of memorials with no photo you can see the more recent postings. The postings I made specifically said they were being entombed at Hillcrest but I have yet to find one done by anyone else that actually says that. I don't know if you are interested in trying to get these deleted but thought I would let you know. Again, great job on Hillcrest!
FAG Memorials #142808988 and #142808707 These are my Grandparents.Esther's name was misspelled on her plaque ("h" was left out of her name). I would like to request transfer of management of their memorials. Thank you.
Marjory Barry Shirley, I doubt you picked up the wrong date, as I notice her bronze marker also reflects 1926. If you find out anything different, I would appreciate it if you shared it with me. For now I will simply add a note on my research page for her indicating where you extracted the data. I suspect she was born in 1927 and was too young to get a SS#, so simply added a year to her age, and this stayed with her. As far as her place of birth, I cannot imagine where or how Kansas City came into play. Three siblings were born in Iowa and one in the middle was born in Colorado, so KS is certainly possible. Thank you for your response.
