|Michael Stock||RE: Looking for Blankenships|
First of all, thank you for responding to my email. I canít tell you how excited I am to obtain information about the man and family who raised my Dad. Other than my Grandmother, Zora Mae, Iíve never spoken with any member of the Blankenship family.
Iíve come across a document that I would like to send you regarding the Blankenship family. Some of the information goes back to 1340 identifying Thomas Blenkinsoppís efforts turn his home into a castle and additional information about the arrival of our first ancestors in 1686.
Itís the 1686 date that fascinates me. Iíve found were Blankenships fought on both side during our Civil War and even Dwight Blankenshipís name on a wall for D-Dayís Missing-In-Action but, itís the 1688 date that peaks my interest; do you know if any of our ancestors took part in the American Revolution and if so, on which side? It would be nice to know after all these years if our forefathers thought of that war as a ďRevolutionĒ or an ďInsurrectionĒ.
I believe I already mentioned that I will be in Missouri in June. Iíll be flying in on Saturday, June 11th and leaving on Tuesday, June 14th. The purpose of my trip is genealogy research and until your email, I was going to spend my time with my Brother-in-Law, Bill, and a group of researchers in the Princeton MO area. But, now that Iíve discovered a real live relative I have to ask; is there any chance I could meet with you during my visit? Time and place would be totally at your convenience.
|Michael Stock||Looking for Blankenships|
Hello Ms. Blair,
My name is Michael Stock and after a long absence Iím back again into genealogy research.
I'm looking for the Blankenship side of my family. Zora Mae Blankenship was my Dadís (Leland H. Stock) mother and Iím very interested in learning more about the Blankenships, especially her father, John P. Blankenship who raised my Dad.
My brother-in-law and I will be in Missouri from June 11th-June 14th searching for any & all information regarding our families and any information you could share regarding the Blankenship family, friends or residences would be greatly appreciated.
San Jose, CA
PS I found it interesting that we both do volunteer work for Find-a-Grave. I just left my Rookie year and am now entered my 2nd year.

On the way later today
|Hazel Inglis||Hello Norma|
I am a Granddaughter to William Maze....
May I send you an email concerning the lineage please ?
My name is Don Huffman and I have been told that Amanda Narcissus (Witt) Lewallen was my Great-Great Grandmother. Her daughter, Rebecca Lewallen, married my Great Grandfather, James Orville Manwarring. This is about all I know because my family moved from Texas when I was a young boy and I never got to know that side of my family. Would you have any information on Amanda or the Manwarrings that you would be willing to share with me?
I thank you for any help that you can give me.

Thank you, Norma, for the updates in the Ripon Cemetery.
|John Andrew Meyer||James Yearout herrod|
Aloha from Maui Hawaii
I am a descendant of the Herod family. I believe that there is a mistake for James Yearout Herrod. I believe this is Jacob Yearout Herrod one of James Herod's sons. He is the father of James Tucker Herrod also buried at Coila.
Also the John Herrod buried at Ciola may or may not be the son of James Herod but the transcription on the 1850 census was wrong. It was Margaret Herod who was an Idiot. not John.
The known family of the children of James Herod are allways spelled Herod. I have a problem with the name having ever been changed to Herod or Harrod.
I was just working on another Herod line in Arkansas where the census taker spelled the name Herrod but the tombstone read Herod.
|Mary Louise Reynolds||Jane Wyatt Witt|
Thank you for the information on this lady. If you are a relative I would be happy to transfer her memorial to you. She is not related to me in any way.

You are welcome-I'm glad the mystery is solved. This makes it possible ,for any relatives that go to California, to find the right final resting place of the son of Mary Jane Chambers Davis Hash. I am retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Nancy
