I am a Cleveland, OH native who has always loved old cemeteries.|
If I "have" a family member of yours, I'll be pleased to give you management. It's so exciting to find things you are looking for! :)
It irks me to no end when people here treat memorials like their personal property - like memorials are trading cards to collect and hoard. I am *always* happy to transfer, except when the person is my own relative (and no one is closer) or ones I have a special interest in. Even those I would fork over to a relative of any distance! LOL
I have even transfered to non-relatives with a special interest in the deceased.
PHOTO NOTE: I did not take the photos of Brooklyn Hts Cemetery in Cleveland. They were ALL originally transcribed and photographed by a very nice lady, Susanna Pretzer. She was completing a project to earn the Gold Award in Girl Scouts.
I checked with her, and have permission to post her photos and add the names. She said, "I definitely didn't know how physically and organizationally demanding it would be when I started, but that made it all the more satisfying...The idea was to get the information to the people who want it, so go for it. If it'll reach interested people who might not find it where it is currently online or in hard copy at the Western Reserve Historical Society, then it's good." --Thanks, Susanna!
Another note on PHOTOS: I give my permission to copy any photos I have taken for your own use or for another site. There are only a few -of thousands- that I have posted which I did not take personally. Just ask, please, so I make sure you are taking something I shot.

No problem, I found them purely by accident, as I was looking for some others, (which I did not find), I saw those and had to get them for you, cause I was thinking of you, and your kindness for helping me
decipher that headstone, if I find anymore I will add them. Your always welcome, you help so many of us.

Thank you for your message, and all the work you've done in Woodland. The picture you posted for BERTHA BANDLOW should be removed from the record as the stone reads LOUISE BANDLOW. The same picture is on Louise's record. Thanks! :-)

Mystery solved. Sorry it took me a while but I was checking all avenues and then waiting for verification. The City of Cleveland did not record the burials for the Burke lot in Section 50 Lot 3. The flag on the grave was for Barzilla Burke who people think are buried in Harvard Grove Cemetery. This is another story I was working on for verification. Those buried in the lot are Barzilla, Prudence, Esther, David, and Willie Hanson. The headstones are in this particular order from left to right. Now that had the names I was able to go through the headstones and match them. I submitted on the Find A Grave all the information I was able to get so far. What made you come across this lot?

It could be moved to the empty spot in between headstones or placed in the back of the "newer" one (preferred). Nothing like this surprises me. I have found numerous headstones on the wrong grave site and wrong sections. One was found clearly across the cemetery!! I also have headstones in the cemetery where the body has been removed to another cemetery. Also, the worst vandals in the cemetery -- the maintenance workers!! They hit headstones constantly with the lawn mower and have no regard to move it back. I have a meeting soon with someone I could address this and many other issues with soon so I hope he can change some things that he may not be aware of.
