Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a Georgia Tann (Black Market Baby seller) adoptee who searched for over 45+ years for my Birth Parents. In August 2011, with the help of Carolyn Whitaker, I found my birth Mother. I have since joined Ancestry and taken a DNA test in hopes of finding my Birth Father, who at some point in 1946-1947 was in Memphis, Tennessee where I was born. Unfortunately, my Mother (Frances Pauline "Cookie" Herring Robinette) died in 1981. I am still searching. My birth name was Herring (Mother's maiden name)no Father listed. My tree on Ancestry is now private as I have added DNA clues to my POSSIBLE birth Father. I believe he may have been a Powell from Mississippi (a Lieutenant in the Army Air Corp?). I am interested in Herring as well as Siskie/Siskey; Leahey; Phillips; Rumley; Leach & others. I believe Find A Grave provides a wonderful service to all who have ancestors who should be recognized.

RE: Finding my Father
Karen,
Do you have any info on your birth father? Do you know where he was from? I strongly believe in divine intervention, therefore I believe we crossed paths for a reason. I think it is interesting that you sent an edit for a cemetery that is composed of mostly my ancestors and you were distantly related to them. (Liberty Cemetery) Although there are no Herrings buried there, many do live nearby. Just trying to help put puzzle together. Definitely NOT trying to stick my nose in your business. I'm available if you need to know anything or if you have more info.
Best regards,
Ann

Hi Karen,
Just a note... if you have not heard of the closed Facebook group called Search Squad.. I would highly recommend you join. There is amazing help there with DNA, research and many, many reunions... some each and every day.

Regards,
Brenda

Karen,
Thanks for info and links for Annabel and Mildred. I hope and pray that you will one day discover your birth father. Everyone deserves to know their roots. Good Luck!
Best regards,
Ann

Karen, appreciate the pat on the back! The 'collective' work being done from coast-to-coast by so many continues to amaze me. Frank

You are her cousin 3x removed. I am her granddaughter on my dad's side. She was his mother.

I'm not sure if we are related, but I guess we are in some way.

God Bless you,

Keep looking
I too, was adopted. I searched for many years and found my birth father first (thru my birth grandmother who was my first contact). After finding my birth father, I located two full siblings and 5 half siblings! It was an amazing journey I have never regretted. Found my birth mother 10 years after my birth father and found another 6 half siblings. KEEP LOOKING....its well worth it and good luck to you....

RE: The Herring Family
Hi again.
I do the edits first, then read mail.
So, hope these are to your liking. Do not hesitate to ask for any family/friends that you would like to care for.
Happy Reseaarching, Bud
