My sister and I have been photographing all the markers in Oak Grove Cemetery in Pawtucket, RI. I am not related to the majority of them, so feel free to request a transfer if you have a relationship to any that I am managing.

I also give permission for anyone to use the photographs I am posting on findagrave.com.

Hi Jo-Ann,
For the past 6 years I've been looking everywhere for a Rhode Island veteran, and couldn't find one, which was disappointing, since I enjoyed adding memorials for them when I lived in RI. And now it turns out I found one in 2010 and didn't even know it...thanks for letting me know about Albert! Went to the library this morning and looked him up in the paper, and added an obit from the local paper to his memorial. The Vermont in the Civil War website doesn't have a record of him being here either, so I'll be passing it along there too. Thanks again, you made my day :)

RE: Edna Arnold
Thanks. I just figured that out. It's wonderful that you and your sister are doing this project in that cemetery. It wasn't until recently that I discovered Edna Arnold was the Edna Remington Slocum I had been looking for. It was only after some research that I found out about her second marriage to Walter Arnold, which lasted only a few years before his death in the 1930s. It was a second marriage for him too, and I believe he's buried with his first wife.

RE: Edna Arnold
Thanks.I tried to add her other children but couldn't see how to do that. It only seemed to let me add additional spouses. But I'm going to create a page for her daughter Mazelle and link it to this page.

BTW, I'm curious how you found the middle name for her son Leon. Whitfield was my father's middle name (son of Mazelle).I suspected that Leon's middle name might be that because I knew his middle initial was W, but I never found any records with the full name.

Wow!! Thank you for the wonderful photos of my 3G grandparents' headstones. I have always wanted to travel throughout RI visiting cemeteries and various addresses where my ancestors lived, but it seems to stay more a dream than a reality. In the meantime, you've given me an awesome piece of family history. Thank you, thank you for your time and generosity in giving me this gift.

Photo now also attached to Mary.
I did take the picture in September 2010 in the hope that James Payne was part of my tree. Not to be.
However John Woodrow the brother of Jame's first wife Elizabeth Woodrow married a Marion Neilson Ireland who is a 3rd Great Grand Aunt of mine.

Regards Matt.
