Bio Photo My husband and I are avid geocachers, and have gotten in the habit of photographing cemeteries while on our frequent road trips throughout the Midwest. We try to fulfill as many photo requests as we can, or will simply snap a few shots of interesting headstones. Many of the memorials we have created were the result of photographing random stones and finding that they were not already listed on Find A Grave. If any of these memorials are relatives of yours that you would like to manage, we will be happy to transfer ownership to you. Just ask!

RE: Therissa Ingersol

I have been thinking some more about the marker for Therissa Ingersol.

You could help to solve a family mystery, if you're game?

There is a vague story that Therissa Ingersol died either from TB or from childbirth. She was nearly 27.

I notice that there is a name at the bottom of her marker. It looks like "John A Ingersol."

There is no such child among the known children of Therissa and John Wesley Ingersol. And I had wondered why, out of all of his children, he had no son named John.

Would it be possible, if you are ever in the area again, to try to uncover the bottom of the marker, or find the missing piece, and see what the name says - and if it says anything about that being a baby?

This could be the child she died delivering - it is possible the child died with her.

Thank you for any help - it would be nice to find out either way, who John A Ingersol could be. (Or if that's what it really says.)

Thank you.
