A well-crafted memorial is the work of many people. The transcriptionist, whether working from a list or from actually walking the cemeteries, lays the foundation. The photographers (what we do) provide visual proof that the person is really buried in that specific location, plus a good picture can really enhance the memorial. And the biographies/obituaries, family links, etc. are the finishing touches that combine to create a loving tribute to a person passed, but still remembered. We truly appreciate the efforts of everyone who contributes to this site, in whatever capacity. |
If you find discrepancies in anything we have posted, please let us know! Our whole goal is accuracy, not the number of memorials we have posted. And if you find a relative and would like to have the maintenance of their memorial, please ask - we will transfer ownership to someone who is a family member, if their line of descent is more closely linked than ours.
Permission to use photos that we have taken is granted for family use. Also, if you have taken a better gravestone photo than one we have posted, please let us know and we will delete ours in favor of the best one.

I was so very very excited until I started looking at dates. According to the Wedding Cert (THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT !!) HC would have been born in 1860 to have been 60 years old in 1920 (the date of marriage). His first child (Lavina) with Nancy McAtee was born in 1872.. HC at age 12? Unless he lied about his age (actually 71 in 1920)....???? Everything else makes sense, he did live near Lecompton, KS and the death of wife Nancy McAtee in 1914 (his youngest child then aged 32) would have left him free to go back to WV and find a new "young" widow. It is all fascinating. Thanks again for the Wedd. Cert. and if I can share any info with you I am more than happy to. I just love the idea of old man Henry lying about his age to get a young wife, maybe he lied to her, too. ???
Thanks very much for the transfer of Mary Savage. I have added some information, but information seems to be scarce. Thanks again.

Yes! That would be great! Thank you! I did know about the memorial, but the only picture there is of the grave is the main picture of the Brick Church Cemetery entrance. I'm still searching for a picture of them in general. It's been extremely hard! I have portraits of Nettie's mother, and of her and James' children. But none of Nettie or James. Thanks again!

Yes, I have noticed the change. I have also seen more ads about almost anything. So sorry I spelled your name wrong, Terri. Hope all is well with you a Stan.

Hi Teri, Her grave maker is added. If by chance you get a better on, please let me know. I could delete mine. The day I was there a couple weeks ago was very sunny and hot! I also noticed there are two linkages to her husband. Thought you would like to know.

I will forward to you the series of emails I have had with descendant Grace Petron. Let me know your thoughts.

I am a Knapp & a Summers descendant - both intermarried with this family.
This week I was contacted by a descendant of Ashford Kisner Find A Grave #58528431 stating he is also a son of Samuel Leonard Kisner but I am unable to confirm. I have found an Ashford Kisner b. @1828 residing with Jacob Kisner in 1850 Hampshire Co, (W)VA.
Hoping you can provide insights? Thanks!
