I recently started Genealogy after my father's death. I realized if I don't start keeping track of the family I won't have anything left! I'm most interested in the Oertel Family from Weesenstein, Germany. My father was the 11th child that came to the USA with his mother in 1923. His mother's maiden name was Schwalbe. I still have cousins in Dresden, Heidenau, and Oberlungswitz. |
In the meantime I enjoy helping others get reunited with their family's past and since I've always like photography this site is a perfect match for me!

Thank you so much for finding and photographing her headstone. Wonderful work.
Have a great day,

Hello - my apologies for the late response. My mother recently passed and things are still a bit hectic.
I didn't know Mr. Williams, unfortunately. However, his obituary was added this evening. There may be some information found there that may be of help to you.
Hope it helps ... best of luck!

Thank you for your work on Find-A-Grave. You make respecting our ancestors and genealogy research much easier. The photo is wonderful. We would like to ask your permission to include the photo of our cousin in our family tree on Ancestry.com. We will give you credit for taking it.

Thanks for the pics. I have a question for you, are you kin to the Clares in King George, VA?

The double middle initial came from cemetery records. You can find them here: http://www.webcemeteries.com/westlaurelhill/Name_Results.Asp

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I've left at least one phone message there but never heard back. I really appreciate your help!

Thank you so much for the photo of my mother's headstone. I live in Virginia Beach, VA and do not have the opportunity to travel to Falls Church to visit my parents graves. Volunteers like you make it possible for others to honor their loved ones. I thank you for your time and efforts to travel to the cemetery and walk, and walk to find the grave.
My father passed on 24 Dec 2008 and was buried Jan 2009 and this photo has shown that the cemetery did not add his name to the headstone as requested. I hope it was just a clerical error. It saddens me to know his gravesite has been unmarked for three and a half years.
So I certainly owe you a double thank you. Now I can ensure this is corrected.
