Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have a passion for genealogy. Searching for my ancestors is such a fun hobby. I am hoping that my good deeds of adding information on other families, will someday be rewarded by someone posting some of my missing pieces. Good luck to all!

I am interested in anyone with the last name of WISECUP.

Stephens Family
Hello, I sent edits to you in May for the Stephens family. If you would consider them, I would be very grateful. I come upon your records every now and then and I appreciate all your hard work! I love Findagrave and use it regularly in my ancestry research. Thanks for considering my edits (mostly family links). Best regards, Brenda

I agree with you that it would be a shame to
lost all the hard work you have put into it.
I ran into this a couple times myself and I asked the original owner if they wanted to delete their memorial and I could transfer mine to them - or did they want me to delete mine and they could add the information I searched for to their memorial - hoping they would give me credit for searching for the information.
Thanks/Marianna

Catherine Jane Caraway Jones Headstone
Inscription on her headstone with husband John B. Jones (Moore's Chapel; Jefferson Twp, Adams, OH) to my eyes shows her death as September, not August, and I read the year to be 1893?

RE: Elmer Newton Wisecup
Do you know who keeps the records of the Carmel Cemetery at Brushcreek? Some township authority maybe? There is a little church there, maybe they would have the records. There are so many people buried there who do no have a monument. I thought maybe I could get subscribers to pay a percentage to erect a memorial listing all the names of the persons buried there...either all of them of just the ones without a marker. Also, do you have any history on the Pisgah church near Marshall.

Elmer Newton Wisecup
Dear Grandma Patti,

I have been researching Elmer Wisecup and found that he had immigrated to Canada in 1908. In 1916 his son Ernest was killed when he was thrown out of a wagon (source) The News-Herald., November 13, 1913, Page 5, Image 5. News reported by Elmer's brother Ernest Clark Wisecup who I'm sure you know was the clerk of the courts in Highland County then (before that he was a postman but had to resign to take over his elected duties as the clerk).

In addition to little Ernest killed in 1916, Elmer had three other children (that I am able to determine), vis:

William Curtis Wisecup
1906-1980 (born in Missouri) died in Linn, Oregon

Grace M Wisecup
1912-? (born in Saskatchewan, Canada)

Frank Edwin Wisecup
1919-1974 (born in Saskatchewan, Canada) died in Portland, Oregon

Frank had a tourist card with his photo in Brazil in 1960, and he lists his mother's name as Hattie Willia*(ms or Williamson). Elmer and Hattie were probably married in Missouri or possibly Kansas around 1899. Elmer was also in the Spanish-American War as was his brother Col. Clarence Ellsworth Wisecup.
