I hope that my entries aide you in finding your family! My PRIMARY INTENT is to get the information up from the stones & records for those that haven't found the burial spots of their loved ones and to preserve information from these stones. Please note, many are put up from cemetery records...as is. I'm aware that there are many errors in these records, but I rarely make assumptions as to proper spelling, etc. with the exception of death month which is often based on interment date. Generally speaking, I do not research each memorial. If you add something to one of my memorials, please notify me through the edit tab so that I can update the memorial.|
Any photos I have posted are gifts - free for family or friends to use as you please for non-commercial purposes. I would be happy to transfer any of your relative's memorials I have created that are unrelated to me - please let me know the relation. I'd prefer they be with someone in their family or someone with a connection to complete a more fitting memorial!
I'm human, I make mistakes. If you find some, please use the edit button on the memorial to advise me. Patience is a virtue - I am not retired and have young children, but will address emails as soon as I can.
A special THANK YOU to those who visit my family. I TRULY appreciate it - it means the world to me!:

*~* MY SPECIAL FINDS: *~*
After 35+ years of research, I finally found:
My GG-Grandfather Gustave "Gus" Werner in May of 2012 as well as his twin baby girls and 2 more of his baby granddaughters. (thanks to FindAGrave & J F-B)
My GGG-Grandparents Joseph Newby and his wife Letitia Hastie (Dark) Newby in August of 2012 (good old fashioned research).
Another GG-Grandfather William Lewis Horn found March 6, 2013 going through old funeral home records. Cemetery records were not available for June 1, 1914 to October, 1920. He died June 15, 1914. Go figure! :)
My GG-Grandmother Jessie Fremont Lane Nelson in January of 2014. (thanks to a FindAGrave friend Mixmastermom)
My Family Ties:

~ My FaG Projects: ~
I'm currently working on photographing & documenting burials in (primarily) 4 Wyandotte County, KS cemeteries:
*** Mount Hope (atleast 3/4 done) All memorials from the cemetery records are posted, and about 95% of the stones. We are still finding burials not in the records. To those that have been gracious enough to leave the 'notes' section alone, we are far enough along on the survey that you can modify this section if you wish. I had 5-600 photos added to my memorials without being told. If you see any, please let me know so that I may update.
*** Quindaro (About 1/2 done) All of the memorials from the cemetery records are posted, but only about 40% of the stones.
*** Woodlawn (just getting started) About 10% of the memorials are up from cemetery records.
*** Oak Grove (a friend is just getting started)
(I can also do look-ups on these 4 cemeteries.)
I also do some work in Memorial Park, Highland Park, Chapel Hill, St John's & Mt Calvary & anywhere else in the area that the wind blows me that day. :)

"A Genealogist must have the patience of Job; the curiosity of a cat; the stubbornness of a mule; the eyesight of an eagle; be blessed with the luck of the Irish and have the ability and stamina of a camel to go long hours without food or drink." -The Herald, Vol.18, No. 3 & 4; 1995
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

I was looking for some information on the Hoffman family and found you at Nicholaes Hoffman's grave site on findagrave. Zacharias Hoffman the brother of Nicholaes is my 6th great grandfather. I love the Bio and Links page you have on the site. There is a lot of information there, and I thank you.
Have a great day,

Your very welcome ! : )
I seen all those stones in one area, and they all pretty much looked the same. Also had the Groen name on them.
Happy I can help!
Sincerely, Rich Swanson

|Glenna Owen||RE: McBride Cemetery - Channell, et al.|
Your Welcome. It was an interesting project. I went to McBride to see my great grandfathers grave and find the family homestead with my 2 girls. Found the grave but not the homestead. Another trip maybe. It was smoking hot that day and although there was much complaining from the peanut gallery (kids) I managed to get all the photographs that were on request from find a grave. It was really not a problem and my pleasure. I'm glad I could help out.

I don't have a date. You know how it is, people always cut the obit out of the newspaper and don't leave the date or the name of the newspaper. All I had was the copy cut out that I got from a cousin. And looking through all my files I don't have a death date for her, because it would have been printed the day after her death.
