I live in GA, married, with children and grandchildren. I love genealogy! It is my therapy except when it drives me nuts!! I have been researching for about 20 years. My boys got me started because they were doing reenactments and wanted to know if they had any ancestors that fought Confederate. I started looking for one and found him right off and the bug had bit me!! I search my family, my husband's and most allied families!! I have met some great relatives and friends that I would have never if not for genealogy. I love to go to cemeteries, libraries, courthouses and travel when I have the time! I have a lot of family, my daddy was the baby of 10 and his daddy was the next to the oldest of 23 and grandma was one of 8 and that is only on my daddy's side!! Somebody asked when was I going to be finished and I told them you never finish, everytime you find a person they have parents, etc!!
I work hard to get my information as accurate as possible and am thankful when other contributors do the same. I'm happy to make requested corrections, but please use the "Edit" tab on the memorial. It's easier to manage the emails that way, and it gives me a link to the memorial and your profile if I need to leave a message. If you request a transfer, please tell me the relationship to the person. Thanks!

RE: Frances A. Peed Revier
I understand. I also hate it when the rest of my life interferes with my family history and genealogy! Thanks again.

Thank you, Jan, for the cemetery. Do you know if their son was buried in the same one?

Newman's graves
I would like to say that Deborah did travel to Fort Gordon to make entries for the Fort Gordon Cemetery in 2006 although that is in no way a requirement. Even If someone makes an entry from a computer it still helps. Some people don't have the money or mobility to go far away but they still add value to Find A Grave.
In my great-grandparents' case neither the original or duplicate memorials had any photos or even birth or death dates, just years until I put in an edit so there is no info to "quickly get from historianne".
At any rate I will drive to Augusta this summer although "braving heat and mosquitoes" isn't a
requirement mind you, and take pbotos myself.
They should make Fort Gordone ONE cemetery. When I add grave pages I always check the whole county first in the spirit of cooperation and discuss with the person that already made a page instead of making a duplicate. It may not be tbe rule, just being mature. Anyway, since Deborah did travel there she clearly put what she saw.
It is unfortunate that historianne doesn't share a sense of cooperation and assistance so many on Find A Grave do.

re: Marshall Newman
Yes, I know. But did you know that that cemetery has only 4 graves in it!!! and 28 people are listed in it? My duplicate, as you call it, is just a minor problem. BTW, by Find A Grave rules, correct placement of a memorial in a correct cemetery takes precedent over memorials in an incorrect cemetery, regardless of date. That rule is basically for people who create memorials (or burial unknowns) and cemeteries when they really haven't found-a-grave, but are working from documents and make mistakes. I am NOT saying that happened in this case, because I don't know, but the person with the earlier date probably never physically found the cemeteries since she hasn't posted any photos. If you look carefully at the photos of the merged cemetery you will see the photos (mine and Margaret's, no Deborah) are of 2 different cemeteries. The small one (M. Long's #19) is on a paved road, whereas the larger one (my #36) is on dirt roads and harder to find. Even the cemetery name is bungled and incorrect. Not sure what went on with these memorials, just that someone really messed up. Mine were all in the correct separate cemetery, with the correct map and directions. The larger correct cemetery, which I created was deleted/merged along with the map to its location. All my memorials (most deleted) were placed into what is really a very small cemetery of 4 people (Margaret's photos). This was my husband's family lands- their cemeteries which they were forced to sell to the government. I have been there and know who is supposed to be where. Someone who didn't know diddly squat had the two separate cemeteries merged. So right now if you and Ronnie will just wait a month or two it will hopefully all get fixed. So my Marshall (which was in the correct cemetery) will automatically be deleted along with hopefully the movement of some 20+ memorials to a correct NEW cemetery. Find A Grave is handling it! Ronnie would have ended up with Marshall anyway. Sorry it takes so long to get corrected, but it HAS BEEN reported and is in the works. Right now it is best to just leave everything as is. Any desired information from my "dups" should quickly be added though before they are gone.

Thanks Jan for connecting her parents. I wasn't trying to get her page, just wanted to keep up with relatives I found out there. Will you tell her to email me if she would like to keep in touch since her grandmother and my husband's grandmother were sisters.
Also will you add her maiden name, Newman?
Thanks,
Ronnie
