|I have been working on my family's genealogy for about 7 years. The more information I find, the more I want to find. |
I grew up on a farm near Chandler, Lincoln Co., Oklahoma. My mother's folks were from Cogar, Ok. and my father's folks were from the Piedmont, Ok. area. My grandparents families on both sides were from Georgia and North Carolina.
I only learned of FAG two weeks ago. I want to add my information to help other people find their family members.
I really enjoy NASCAR. The drivers that I like in this era are Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, etc. I've been enjoying NASCAR since about 1967.

I noticed you left a flower on her memorial. Are you related in anyway and could you or would you be able to help with a first marriage of hers to Lonnie Ray Hillhouse. I am interested in researching the information on him. He is on my family tree and it seems to be going no where to find info. Think that he as his first wife adopted a couple of children. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Joyce, thank you sincerely for the gift of rememberance flowers you placed on Martha Jane Duff's memorial, I am the youngest of her children and out of ten children there is only two of us left. Are we related to one another? My Mother was born in Ava Mo, and was married there and had four of her children there, then moved to Twin Falls Idaho. She lacked just a few months of reaching 100 years of age. I would love to hear from you. Again my thanks for the honor you bestowed to my Mother. Are you related to the Daves family?

Rhoda is fixed. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

This memorial is listed twice. It should be deleted from Union Hill Missionary Baptist as it correctly under Union Hill Cemetery. Thanks.

Are we related? My grandmother, Rose Ella White, was born in Lincoln County (in or near Stroud) and married James Steven DeMoss, son of Lewis L DeMoss. I would love to hear from you. Sharon

Thanks for the good response, Joyce. Would you or your husband be able to identify the "Mr. Hopkins" who is buried in McCorkle Cemetery, Lincoln Co. That's about 4-5 miles NW of town. (See Find A Grave page for details.)
There's no other data and no photo, just the name "Mr. Hopkins." The only clue is that the known burials are between 1897 and 1924.
The only reason, I think, that this entry exists is that Mrs. Joe Gibson remembered the burial. (See http://www.okcemeteries.net/lincoln/mccorkle/mccorkle.html)

Hi again, Joyce
I see you have left some flowers for the little Rice children at McCorkle Cemetery. I'm entering some data for them and would be glad to learn more. My dad's first cousin Ray Stidham is closely related to the Rice family, and he visited the cemetery about ten years ago, identifying the twins. Do you know any more about this family?
Rays son Eugene and I visited the cemetery this past week. It's in a terrible state of neglect. We're going to try to get the City of Chandler to go in and clean it up.
I hope we will also be able to get cooperation from the Find A Grave site manager, "Okie Kid," whoever that is. Looks like she has simply pasted in the DAR assessment from the 1960s.
