Bio and Links
Bio Photo My objective in creating (and/or managing) a memorial is simple it is to honor the person's life, no matter how short or long a period of time that individual lived. If working with genealogy has taught me nothing else, it has taught me that life is a precious gift, not to be wasted.
If I have a memorial for someone who has recently died, and you are a family member who objects to it, let me know & I will delete the memorial.
Please send requests for additions, corrections, linking, and transfers through the system FAG provides using the "Edit" tab in the upper right-hand corner of the memorial.
~~~When you submit an addition or correction, please include the OFFICIAL source (preferably a link), so that it can be confirmed. NO EXCEPTIONS. Any edit must be substantiated before the edit will be made. If there is no way to contact you in order to request your source (such as you have your messages disabled and no email address), I will be forced to decline your edit. A family tree is not official; the source needs to be an official document. The source name will be posted to the memorial, so that family members can confirm the posted information for themselves. I am unable to accept as a substantiating source, since many people are not members & cannot access information from that site, and the information on the site is not always reliable. However, is an excellent free source for many official records/documents. If information cannot be substantiated, the edit request will be declined. In order to send substantiating information for your edits, use the "suggest any other suggestion or addition" link.~~~ Please note: I do not use birthdates or death ages from death records/certificates, as the older records are frequently wrong, in my experience.**
Unfortunately there are members who resent this desire for accuracy and send harassing, abusive messages; those messages will be forwarded immediately to F.A.G. admin.~~~
F.A.G. transfer policy: Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. State your exact relationship, please. If you are seeking transfers to "have all my family together", use the virtual cemetery option.
The sources I post on the memorials I manage are accessible to anyone wishing to confirm them, as I use the free website or online books for information.
I'm sorry, but I don't link to unknown burials.
I am happy to post information from an obituary that will enhance the memorial in the BIO section of a memorial.
Please do NOT leave biographical information and obituaries in a virtual flower. That is what the "edit" tab is for. This is against policy.
****Please do not post a death certificate, obituary, or anything else in the "photo section" except for person photos or photos of the gravestone.****
Alfred Ferris
My name is Wm. Morden, my grand mother Bernice Ferris Cowan is a descendant of John Ferris 1802-1886. I think Alfred is the 8th child of John.
The reason I'm contacting you is, I'm looking for the burial location of the older sister of Alfred. Susan Ferris Donlin. I found were she and her husband lived in the 8th ward in Detroit at the same time as Alfred (1850 census).
I found the Find A Grave memorial (92506665) you manage for Alfred as well as you being Ferris descendant. I'm taking a shot in the dark that you may be able to help me.
You're very welcome Allison! I love the old stones and am always very happy to be able to find then to fulfill photo requests. We've got to photograph them now since who knows what the future will bring or how long they'll last.
Best Regards,
Rick Weaver
