I am updating the Family history and I absolutely love this site. It is a wonderful way to honour those that have gone before. I appreciate all feedback or corrections to the Memorials that I maintain, and I would add that I will transfer the management of Memorials if the request falls within the Find a Grave guidelines *(Within Reason!) I believe that Family should have Family. ONE PET PEEVE: I heartily dislike it when I take the time and trouble to research vital information and others will not post this information in the proper areas on the Memorials. I would NOT offer information without first checking its veracity. I take an enormous amount of pride in making these Memorials as accurate and concise as I possibly can, and that goes for Memorials that I do not manage as well. I also appreciate beauty, and pictures and documents in my opinion only add to the aesthetics of the Memorials. This site and its mission have become very important to me, and I hope that my contributions reflect that sentiment.|
Note* I do not list living Children or Relatives on Memorials unless it is part of a genuine, published Obituary.
Special Note* It is my intention to turn these Memorials over to someone I can trust should I be unable in the future to care for them. Please do not freeze this account.

I was browsing around a newspaper database (now I can't remember if it was my new subscription to newspapers.com or the free one called Historic Oregon Newspapers]. The Eugene Guard, 28 Aug 1918, page 3: "Child is Adopted - Papers were issued on Tuesday to Annie A. Ames legalizing the adoption of Gladys Marie Eakin, the daughter of Mrs. Margaret Savage. The mother filed her consent to the adoption and the child is now named Gladys Ames." Even though it doesn't look like she stayed with the Ames family, I'm so happy to see her on findagrave looking like she had a good life. I can't imagine what transpired to cause Margaret to give up her child after she married Jesse Lee Savage (my grandfather's brother). -Jackie

You're welcome. I like to have them merged also, to keep any info that's been added.

Hi, Rebecca...I see you're taking care of all the Dunlaps. I'm trying to find out if the Jane Hawk, buried at Big Springs in Butler County was a Dunlap and living with her brother Alexander Dunlap - the one with the great will and lots of nieces and nephews. Jane died in 1852. Can you help me with any proof that Jane and Alex were siblings?? thanks in advance. Paula Harry (firstname.lastname@example.org)

I am curious how you got a copy of the Marriage Certificate for Gladys and John. Are you related to either? She was an Aunt that died before I was born. My father was Earl J. Perry, Gladys's brother.

I have a copy of her obituary which gives a September 1971 death date.
Do you know where the January 1971 date originated?
Thanks a bunch.

Most certianly, I also have a copy of the Oct 1946 Meridian Tribune article announcing the sale of the Walnut Springs Hustler by Mr Dunlap if you would like a copy. Also if I can figure out how to capture a copy from GOOGLE earth I can show you exactly where his shop was in Walnut. The building is now gone, butin the '50's it was near the old movie theater and had a covered sidewalk. My grandmother lived about two blocks from his print shop.
