Bio and Links
Bio Photo Until very recently, I had never had any problems with people on this site. That has now changed and I feel I need to address this-Genealogy is a hobby for me. I am not here to make money, hoard memorials or do anything like that. I'm a nice person who digs history. If you want something from me, chances are, you'll get it- BUT there is such a thing as decorum. Ask nicely and ye shall most likely receive. My blessed mother taught me how to treat other people and I expect the same. If you come at me, accusing and ranting about things, I will have to ignore you- just as I would hope you would do me if I acted like that.

I am cemetery historian and history buff who was a docent at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta for many years. I love photography in general, but mostly cemetery photography and symbolism. I am also the family genealogist and am currently trying to add memorials to my family, as well as helping friends do the same.

This all started when my grandfather, William Walner, would take me to Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia, while he tended my Nana's grave. My PopPop was terribly overprotective, especially of his only grandchild and the only place I could wander freely was the cemetery. It became a form of therapy to walk in a quiet place, read stones, look at photos, admire flowers and learn about history. I think of cemeteries as outdoor museums. To this day, I have no problem pulling off the road to look at an interesting cemetery, no matter where we are traveling.

I am working slowly on adding as many Jewish graves as I can from Greenwood Cemetery in Atlanta, as well as family graves in Norfolk, Virginia, Baltimore, Maryland and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. However, I am in no way limited in my cemetery interests- have camera, will travel!

I am proud to be associated with Find-A-Grave. It gives me great peace and joy to know that we are helping people be remembered and bringing connections and history alive for so many others. I know that my own family has entered into lots of wonderful conversations because of Find-A-Grave. We swap stories, look at photographs, and foster a real sense of closeness. Bless Find-A-Grave for making that possible!

**Am so proud of my kidlet! Welcome Noah Abramson, photographer supreme! He is out there at Greenwood using his photography as his Bar Mitzvah project. . Way to go, sweetie!!!

IF YOU HAVE CHANGES/ADDITIONS to any of the memorials I have posted, please contact me via my email. I don't always see what is posted below and I don't wish to frustrate anyone, myself included. Thanks! I regret that I can not currently be a photo volunteer, but hope to be able to in the near future.

Shelley Little
You sent me a suggestion for Shelley Little. I added this memorial as part of a project to help another contributor. I would be happy to transfer this memorial to your care if you would like to manage it.

Re: Rosa Levy Alhadeff
No, she is not a relative, I was just taking pictures at that cemetery one day and added the ones I took pictures of. Then yesterday I found her daughter's obituary so I looked her up to add a relation.

Also- I just wanted to say that I love your idea of the Cowboy Hat virtual cemetery. The fact that you have collected so many amazes me, and it's very whimsical. Thanks!

Rosa Levy Alhadeff
Hi Ms. Abramson: I mistakenly added a memorial for Rosa Levy Alhadeff without realizing that you had already added one. Is there a way we can merge the two, or should I just delete mine? #150331158
