I was born in South Bend IN and raised in Elkhart IN, and moved to southwestern Illinois, near St Louis MO, after a four-year tour with the US Air Force when I graduated from high school. I have always been fascinated by cemeteries ever since I was a young child, especially small family cemeteries. In the last 30-plus years, I have delved into my family genealogy on my father's (Bjornstad) and mother's (Denson) side. My paternal grandfather, Kristian Bjornstad, immigrated from Norway in the early 1900s, eventually settling in eastern North Dakota. His oldest brother had an interest in the Bjornstad genealogy and he compiled the family record into a book and had it published in Oslo Norway in 1943, which traces the family origins to the first king of Norway. I have used it as a reference when submitting memorials for my father's ancestors on Find A Grave. On my mother's side, a distant cousin, Dr. Marion E. Denson of Columbia TN (now deceased) published a genealogy book in 1997 on the Denson families in America, tracing them back to the mid-1600s, when a William Denson came from England and settled in southern Virginia, near the present-day city of Norfolk. This book has been a great source of reference for my Find A Grave memorials pertaining to my Denson ancestors. Additionally, I want to give special thanks to Ronald C. Denson of Birmingham AL (now deceased) who also compiled a genealogy of my Denson ancestors which was very helpful.|
I also want to give special thanks to my wife, Angela Bjornstad, for her help in formatting the photos that I have posted to Find A Grave.
I am acceptable to transferring memorials on Find A Grave to anyone who requests them and who is a direct descendant of the person whose memorial I have posted, unless I am also a direct descendant. If I have incorrectly stated any information for any memorial that I manage, please use the Edit tab feature and I will gladly make the necessary correction(s). Also, I do not object if anyone posts pictures to any memorials that I created and still manage.
I do not have the ability to instantly make any changes or corrections to the Famous memorials that I have posted. Only the Find A Grave administrators can do that. If you should find an error on any Famous memorial that is credited to me, please contact email@example.com and provide them with the required changes/corrections.

Made a typo below - Baskett not Blaskett. Sorry.
|Derek SJ.||James Baskett|
Hi there. I believe you made an error in your bio for James Blaskett. You wrote: "In March 1948 he won an Honorary Academy Award for his role as 'Uncle Remus in the "Song of the South," making him the first African-American performer to receive an Oscar" but Hattie McDaniel is the first African American to receive an Oscar. She won best supporting actress for Gone With the Wind at the 1940 Academy Awards. Just thought you might want to know.

Bye Bye Birdie, where Daly appears in a cameo, was released in 1963, not 1955.

Do you know where the former governor was buried?
|Linda Davis||Veronica Lake|
I enjoyed the Famous bio of Veronica Lake written by you. I really didn't know much about the beautiful lady and you gave me a very good overview. Thanks.

Hello again: Do not mean to both you but I followed your suggestion and added his church title as a name edit. I received an "automatic" response "declined"? No explanation. No comment.
He was educated as a Pres, minister and had a congregation, was assigned a church and served in Congress as "extra" part time job WHILE STILL HAVING HIS CHURCH ...So why would this part of his name be stripped off? His bios all identify him as a minister. Who do you contact at at FindAGrave to ask about this? There really did NOT appear to be any deliberation of my request...just a quick rejection.
Hope to hear from you. D. Montgomery
|Greg Olson||RE: Richard Beardsley|
Thanks for the quick reply. You're right - the request was from John Beardsley. I wrote him and am waiting to hear back.
I have a list of persons buried in the cemetery starting in 1880 which I'd be happy to share if you'd be interested as well as some background on the cemetery which I've written.
Send me your email address and I'll send them there. My own personal email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.

Saw your photo request for the American Cemetery in Cairo. I live there and do volunteer work at the cemetery. Have no record of his grave. What's the documentation supporting his burial there? He might be buried in a nearby cemetery I am thinking and be happy to follow this up.

|D. Montgomery||REV DAVID BARD|
hello: I have a quick question about my ancestor Rev David Bard for whom you have posted a bio. I see that Find A Grave has taken over admin of this site....was there a bio posted there before? Also he was a minister and had a church congregation but the Rev. title that he signed papers with has no disappeared as a title from his name???
When did admin take over his site?
Appreciate if you could help. Thanks D. Montgomery
