Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm Carolyn. I am 27, and came from Kansas, originally. I am disabled due to Fibromyalgia. I like helping or contributing to whatever I can. I am single; it's just Finn The Cat and I. I have interests in history, writing, photography, genealogy, art, different cultures, and love animals.
I originally joined this site because I liked the idea of making sure people that walked this earth before us, had somewhere where they could be found and remembered. Though after the loss of my grandmother that I was very close to, and combining it with the loss of a friend that took his life, Find A Grave became a haven to me. I do a lot of grieving here, and this has opened me up, and made me want to pay respect and help in remembering as many people on here as I can. No-one should be forgotten.

If you have time, please stop by and see my grandmother, Nadine; my grandfather, Bert; and my friend, Adam

Also, there is my sister-in-law's father, Mike, that died of aggressive Cancer, recently.

My paternal grandfather, Carl, that passed away in 2011 from Cancer that went to his brain, after years of battling. And my great-grandma, Wilhelmina "Minnie" (she was a centenarian; she was nearing 102-years-old when she passed away in 2002)

Aunt Maggie McCutchan - she had a very sad life

Dorothy McAdam Dorothy McAdam gets very few flowers; she is a victim of suicide. Dorothy's daughter made her memorial, but her daughter has passed away since then.

If anyone has a decent bit of free time, the Auschwitz holocaust victims could really use some flowers. I have been trying to get some done, myself. Most of these people and children have only a couple flowers, or none at all.

If anyone needs a photo of a grave from Maxwell cemetery, just let me know. I just live a few blocks away, so it'd be no problem.

At the moment, I can mostly just help with grave photos from Maxwell cemetery in Maxwell, Story county, Iowa. I can sometimes help with Woodland cemetery outside of Maxwell.

If I have added anyone's family, please let me know and I will gladly transfer it to you - it doesn't matter to me how distantly related you are to the person. I feel it's only right that people should have their family and ancestors' memorial records. I think the point of this should be to preserve history and the people in it, give people a place to pay respect to their family, and give families infomation of their family history. I do not believe it should be about owning the most memorials, or having the highest amount of entries. I would hope that others would pay me the same courtesy.

Feel free to use the photos I've taken and added, but I'd appreciate it if you cited me; it also helps to use citation, if you are using the photos for research. Thank you

Unfortunately this is a rural cemetery and there is no office and I have no idea who holds the records.

RE: Vesta Fish
Oh, wow, fantastic photos! Thank you so much! Your efforts are much appreciated. I do have to say that I do not know John Fish, so if you want him back I can transfer him to you. I am related through the maternal side, so don't know much about the Fish side of the family. If anyone comes along who is related to him, I will pass him along. Let me know what you want me to do (if you want him back now). I really truly so appreciate the extra effort you made to find my Aunt Vesta and her family! You are awesome.

RE: Vesta Fish
Thank you for looking, Carolyn. I am pretty sure she has a stone as I found it on a list of transcribed markers from the early 1990s. Her husband is Lee A. Fish (they probably share a stone) and she also had a daughter Elizabeth who will probably be nearby (passed away at a young age). I would really appreciate seeing all three of them if you can find them. Lee's parents are Flora and Isaac, they may be near them. Thank you again for looking.

RE: Edward Simpson
Could very well be the reason...I wish he would have been able to get help instead of dying like that. But back then maybe there wasnt many options for him. Its a permanent solution to a temporary problem and its sad.

RE: Edward Simpson
It is listed on his obituary card here is the link. If it doesnt work just type browning.evlp.org (no www prefix) He is related to me by marriage to my 2nd great aunt Anna Keil. He was her first husband and they had Adelene,Harvey,Gladys,Warren and Charles. If you would want more family info I would be glad to share with you. It suprised me to learn about his suicide to...Its always hard to deal with that in a family.

RE: Couch
Thank You for adding the Couch son. I was 99.9 % sure he was buried there but you never know. You can keep his memorial. Like you said, I am not in it for the #'s just the genealogy side of things.
I emailed the Maxwell cemetery with questons about the offspring of the Brown family. I think several of Ada's brothers & sisters are buried there, but again not sure. There last know location was Maxwell so I would guess it was there.
Do you have away to check before you go walk the cemetery? As I do not want you to do that.
Cindy
