I am very actively pursuing family information. I maintain an Ancestry.com tree, and my brother and I have family photo sites on Smug Mug, where we display the photos we get from family members and kind souls who share on these programs in hopes of preserving and sharing them with all families who need them. It occurred to me when going through my mother and grandmother's huge trunks full of photos that it was sad for one family to have all those treasures and not share. And, so began my many, many hours of scanning and sharing photos and information.|
I also enjoy visiting other memorials and cemetaries and adding flowers, pictures or data to memorials that have no information, or very little. My husband and I walk through cemetaries quite often, and find the headstones so interesting. I love adding to the history of these people, and it grieves me to find one that says "unknown" on a headstone. Genealogy has become a true passion.
My lines are Duncan, Mather, Dodson, Smith, Moore, Bullion, Curtis, Whitehead, Barron, Reid, and you know how that goes - many more! I am happy to share information and photos with those seeking help, and so very much appreciate all that is shared with me.
I live in the Hill Country of Texas, am married, and enjoying retirement. I am a native Texan, and my Ancestors all go back many generations in Texas.
Please feel free to use my information and any photos I have posted. I do not understand the fuss about using someone's photos. If they are sacred and personal, then don't post them, is my philosophy. We are all here to help one another and share for this and future generations. So many photos get lost in fires, animals getting into boxes, etc., so why keep them private? After we are all gone, our grandchildren and gr-grandchildren will someday be searching for images and information, and if I took it with me, they would be left at a loss. There are so many members in my family who suffered fires, floods, tornados, and other losses. But, at one time they DID have a photo of "Great Uncle John", however, now due to some unforseen circumstance, it's lost forever..... Think about it.
God bless and and Happy Trails..

I know you have no direct line to this person. I saw that you left a memorial for him and listed his calvary in the army. It seems to me that he fought in the Civil War, but I'm trying to confirm that information. I could not find him under the list of soldiers on the civil war website. If you can anyway help me let me know. He is my great X3 grandfather. I'm trying to trace our family tree back to which country our family came from.

Clarene Oxford Stevens and 43766017 Clarene Oxford Cotten are the same person. She had many husbands:
What to do??
I added Joseph as her spouse. You could have done that through the edit function.
Anyway, are you related to Bessie and Joseph? If so, would you like their memorial? If so, please tell me how and we will transfer. I updated her memorial for a friend = he transferred all the surnames that matched ones we had in an area. I have a Mary 'Molly' Eckert who married a William Shimp in 1811 in Fairfield County, Ohio.

Do you have any information about her.

You posted a photo on Joseph E Anderson's memorial page. He was a paternal grandmother's father. I wondered if you are related since you are a Texan?
Thank you - Mellanie(Find A Grave#47670933)
Lynda, thank you so much for the transfer of my mom's memorial. Also thanks for setting it up so nicely!
