Update, December 2015: I've hung up the camera for a while, and probably won't be taking photos until spring at the earliest. From time to time, I may fulfill requests, but I won't be adding to this site as much as I used to. If you have any corrections or additions to the memorials I've created, please keep sending them through. Thank you. |
I'm currently looking to add names and photos to a few nearby cemeteries (Northwood, Chelten Hills, Ivy Hill, Holy Sepulchre, and Oakland, as well as a few others), and I generally won't add a record unless I have a photo to go with it. I tend to be somewhat random and haphazard when photographing - I may take a few photos in one area of a cemetery, and then move to a totally different section. I'll attempt to fulfill as many photo requests in my area as possible (but I DO need a location of a grave marker in order for me to do so, as some of these cemeteries are huge). The virtual cemetery that I set up is for individuals who I am related to, so if you have any connection to any of these names, please contact me! Thank you.

|Carolyn Russell||RE: Northwood Cemetery|
Thank you for replying to my inquiry. I thought it might be the cemetery being uncooperative. I've heard about other cemeteries discouraging volunteers so wasn't surprised by what you wrote.
My 3rd great grandfather is buried there as well as his son and daughter-in-law but I do not have a plot number, etc.
How mean-spirited of the cemetery. Maybe a local genealogical society could put some pressure on the cemetery board. What is the answer?
Thank you for all your hard work.

I noticed that Northwood Cemetery has hundreds of photo requests for tombstone pictures. I was wondering if you knew why some of them have not been fulfilled. I'm not asking you to get pictures for me just wondering if there is a reason why so many. Is there a cooperation problem with the cemetery? Was just wondering. Seems like there would be many Find a Grave volunteers in the city to fulfill these requests. It baffles me.

Thank you so much for the transfer!
I appreciated the edits you did for the Dennis family, connecting my grandfather to his sons.
|Mary Beth||Thank you.|
Hi. Thank you very much for the transfer of Richard Smith. Mary Beth

Hi. I was excited to find your memorial and tombstone photo for my ancestors husband Richard Smith in Chelten Hills Cemetery. I did not see one for his wife Elizabeth Smith. I read your photo, that you would be going back to do some picture taking. I was hoping if you do, if you could notice if there is a tombstone for Elizabeth Smith. Thank you for your consideration. Mary Beth

SRev1, thank your for all your contributions to the Findagrave website. I would like permission to use your photographs of my relatives' grave sites in my Family Tree files. I use the photos as source media and will gladly give you credit. Becky
|Bob Dubel||Charles Veit|
The ancestors of Charles Veit were born in Feuerbach, now a suburb of Stuttgart, Germany. My cousin there has a database of 500 people who emigrated, most to USA. He is trying to track them to see where they settled and genealogy of their life. The info will go to the archives there. I help by doing other searches and research. Please send me an e-mail with your e-mail address so we can correspond a bit. We might be relatives. Thanks. Bob Dubel, firstname.lastname@example.org
|Helene D||Jennie Werkley Edit - 129598624|
Hello! I submitted an edit for Jennie Werkley, a memorial you created. Jennie is the sister of my great-grandmother. I wanted to note that I realize the birth date I submitted is different from the year given on the tombstone. I do have several sources for the 1897 birth date, including her birth record from the City of Philadelphia. I wanted to let you know that the evidence does support that date, although later in her life documents use the 1898 date.
