To change information click on the "EDIT" tab at the top right of the memorial. If I reject an edit, please contact me should you need to know the reason (usually it's a date typo that doesn't make sense, or a duplicate request). No "proof" necessary - most people do their homework, and I'm good with that.
PLEASE DO NOT ADD ANY PHOTOS YOU DID NOT TAKE or add photographs of obituaries.
DUPLICATES happen. Let me know in the "other comments" section of the "Suggest a Correction" section and include the number of the original memorial in the event that it is one that has been transferred to me. FAG has to delete transferred memorials that are duplicates, and needs that original number.
Please be as specific as you can in stating relationships. My decision, on a case-by-case basis. I DO transfer out of FAG Guideline. Most people request memorials for the right reasons: they know and care about the person they're requesting. I generally transfer those who are not my family or close friends. Too many do NOT have someone with a personal connection.
OBITUARY: please credit the source, name of paper or mortuary, and date. I omit survivors' names (if it is a recent obit - within the last few years)outside of spouse, partner, or parent if I don't have express permission to include them.
MY PHOTOS - OK to use. I would like to know if family photos are being used so I can be sure they're going the right place. I've found a few that have been incorrectly assigned.
I photograph and update cemeteries in Pottawatomie and Riley Counties, Kansas, when I'm not employed as a full-time substitute teacher. I am a member of the Riley County Genealogical Society.
My grave interests come from parents who love history and writing, and frequently told us stories about past (passed) people in our lives. As a preacher's kid I played in cemeteries a lot growing up, and I guess I haven't stopped.

|Fred Sanford||RE:old newspapers|
Go to the Library of Congress website - limited years but lots of old newspapers from around the U.S. Searchable! and the old photos are out of sight! Found lots of stuff!...
|Fred Sanford||Re: Carl Braatz @ Cedar Hill|
Cool! I really think he's one of the best...In the back of the same cemetery is Section where the D.C. fire dept in the late 1920s bought several thousand graves for the older retired members. Many are in this section but others are all over the 100 acres of the cemetery. Not til the 60s or so did firemen and cops start getting better pay for such dirty & dangerous work. Many are in Section 20. Look at Thomas 'Kelly' Cattertons grave to see what some of the stuff that used to be there in commemoration but have vanished over the years. WW II may have taken some as scrap. The last of the DCFD horses (Tom) died in the early 1930s. He had an elaborate grave that today is missing. Look at Tom, Gene, and Barney Bargagni - named for Angelo Bargagni - in the Public service folder. Same folder - Stephen Balch (I did the photos and bio) What a guy!

Added...be sure and check Carl Braatz in there as well. Not really a sitting place but my favorite of all I've done. I saw your dog - good one! I've yet to add some of mine though I've added others. One recent one was from a WW II aircraft crewman killed in Australia = named Katz. His dog flew some 20 missions but not the last one. Others sent the dog home to D.C. Nit wit sister didn't watch him one morning and he vanished. Check the military virtual for him - there's a link to the dog.

Think Jerry is still living, he is related you can transfer him and Betty if you like.
Thank you, Gail
|Brenda & Pete||RE: Accident victim virtual cemetery|
Just wanted to let you know that I have added your niece to my virtual cemetery and to send you my sincere condolences on the loss of your family member. It would seem she was quite exceptional. It is very unfortunate and so sad that she passed away at such a young age.
