Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been recording genealogy and family histories for approximately 40 years. This has always been an interest of mine--since childhood. I live on a piece of the old farm where I was born and my family has owned for generations. Several lines of my ancestors have been in this area of Southeast Georgia for over 200 years. I am a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy, both of which I am very proud.

I have been a member of Find A Grave for much longer than stated above. I was unable to access my old account and had to start anew. I've always enjoyed visiting old cemeteries, as well as old houses.

My husband, Larry, and I have published two pictorial history books: "Treutlen County, Georgia" in 2008 and "Montgomery County, Georgia" in 2010. These books can be purchased online at Arcadia Publishing Co. We enjoyed visiting people in these counties who invited us into their homes and allowed us to scan their precious family photographs.

N O T E:
Anything I post, photos or memorial biographies, may be copied and used for personal use as long as you give me credit, just as I personally do if I can find the source.

I welcome corrections and additions to my posts and will respond to all messages. This site is a wonderful tool, but it is only effective if those who post memorials will strive to place them in the correct cemeteries and will continue to maintain them.

RE: Uncle's cemetery photo

This is the picture of the gate that I submitted for approval to the admins of Findagrave. I have told James and I am now telling you, again, that this picture is put on all memorials and I cannot remove it from an individual memorial, ESPECIALLY a memorial that I do not have possession of. I will contact an admin to ask them to explain this to you since I am not being clear enough to help you understand what the gate shot is. Memorials can have only 5 pictures, unless they are sponsored. If you choose to sponsor the memorial, significantly more pictures can be added.

Uncle's Memorial
The gate shot is placed on each memorial by the administration of Findagrave. I took the photo, they added it.

Uncle's cemetery photo
Hi, I'm not sure what photo you refer to on your uncle's memorial. I have not added any photos to your uncle's memorial. The only photo I see that you did not add was the gate photo, which I took. I did not add it directly to his memorial, but it is the accepted gate shot for this cemetery on Findagrave.

1st message from you...Why are you rejecting my corrections? You have this memorial wrong! When it says "nee", that means formerly. Do you understand what a maiden name is and that the surname the individual died with is the one you should use on memorials? Her name should be written Lizzie Byrd Miller. Byrd is the maiden name, and Miller is the married name she died with.
Second message from you...Furthermore, you're obviously lying when you notify Findagrave officials "The memorial is up to date with submitted edit." You haven't edited a thing, much less what was submitted to you!

No Olivia I am not stupid and I do not lie but I am wondering if you are senile since I have alreay informed you several times as to why I am not changing the memorial to please you. The memorial is up to date per the families wishes not yours. Is she kin to you? Not hardly. The dear woman is black! Not let her families wishes come before yours. Everytime I change it for you they send me a request to change it back. So stop being a know it all us usual. Thank you and God Bless Wendy
