Hi, my name is Todd. I was born and raised in Chicago and I am the youngest of eight children.|
I became interested in cemeteries about 5 years ago and discovered the Find A Grave web site about 3 years ago. I am very family oriented and perhaps that is why I find beauty and solace in the places we choose to lay our loved ones to rest. Cemeteries are a reverent, holy and sacred place we can go to remember the people we loved. Many people find cemeteries scary and approach them with trepidation but I think they are beautiful and each one is unique in its own way and a place that we can visit to honor and show respect to those people whom we shared out lives.
Each gravestone tells a brief story or history and is a testament to someone who lived and loved and continued the story of humankind's wonderful journey. Our loved ones continue to live through our memories and our stories of them. May God bless.

If you want I could copy off some of the main pages of the family and send them to you. You can send an email to me.

Thank you so much for the great photos of their stone! It is quite unusual and so readable! You were right about seeing the Anton, I assume these are some of the eight children! It is so nice to have younger folks interested in their family history, bless you!

Unfortunately all I have about Otto & Rudy is that they "never married', I'm sure there is an obit for them hopefully. I can check the Humboldt Library to see. Art Lang 70850 Hwy 50 DuBois, NE 68345 (402-859-4570) has vols. of Blecha Family History he has collected, 3 vol. on just Albert side. On your family he doesn't have a lot. Since they were in CA there isn't much. He does have a copy of Anna & Frank's marriage license, no obits. Has the obit for Elsie, but not the name of the cemetery. He has your family & the 8 of you & spouses up to- Gloria & you have no spouses listed. I don't know what year he made these books, he may have updated since mine! He loves to talk, as do I, but he knows more!
Has most on the Gossman family See now he has obit for Anna, in the next vol. lot on the Carpenter side. Guess this is enough for now! :) Luella

That's why I love this site! The Blecha family tree has a LOT of branches! I went back the next generation, I don't know if I have Anna Mary's Uncle John in the right cemetery in Chicago. I did put in a request for his tombstone, but so far no luck. I have just that he is buried in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago. Is there any way to find out if he is buried there? Only info I have on him is John Blecha (he was the 2nd child of Frank & Frances, Albert your line was 1st)born 1844 & died Oct. 1897 in Chicago. Married to Katerina, born 1845 & died 1917. They had 8 children. It can be so confusing when every family had children with the same names! John might not even have a stone or so worn it can't be read. Glad you found some new info and will be fun to check what you have added!

You are so welcome, always happy to help! Now refresh my memory, is this the one on the Blecha family tree? Lot of Carpenter's! Nemechek? I love linking the family, almost every cemetery I visit has Carpenter names it seems! Which cemetery was she in?
