RE: Thomas Starks
Yes, he is in the Winner Cemetery. We believe we might have found Thomas's parents, and I'm trying to confirm his birthdate. Any info you can give me would be appreciated!

I'm a descendant of Thomas Starks. Do you by any chance have a photo of his headstone? I would love to see it!

RE: Thank you!!!
That is great, about the Winner cemetery. This is spooky I was just thinking about the Winner cemetery today. I was day dreaming about prettying it up and planting flowers here and there and putting in a nice stone garden bench!

Your timing is impeccable! haha

A lady in a group I was in had suggested the local boy scouts might help but I never acted on that. I figured maybe she had done. Well that is very nice of her, if you want to send me more details, you can.

Thank you for the transfers. I will delete the memorial I have for Johanna and add my information to your memorial. Please send me the contact info - how wonderful that someone is taking care of the cemetery. If you prefer, you can contact me at I really appreciate your creating all these Rathbun memorials - has been a great help in researching the family.

RE: Thank you!!!
Thank you for the great message. It is really great to hear that the Winner cemetery has been cleared and is not the tangle of brambles I had read about! I have at least several ancestors buried there. There are similar small cemeteries that were once on family farms, in which state they currently are I have no idea. That to me is a worry and a pity. But being thousands of miles away I don't know what I can do. Maybe some day.

I agree it would be nice to find out who did this amazing kindness and to thank them. I'd sure take them out for a fine meal (your family included) if I could and thank in person and yes I'd offer to pay for them to keep it up if I could afford it. We are in tough times here been laid off three plus years now. But yes, I would pitch in anyway. And happily!

The random act of kindness might've been a local LDS chapter, I had told one person about the cemetery some time back and they said they might let them know...but I don't really know for sure.

Hope you got a bushel full of great raspberries! =)

I didn't get the pix aside from what's on Richard's page, I will try to find the cemetery home page and thank you.
